Olive Garden Review & Gift Card Giveaway -- ENDED

My father-in-law always jokes that our family is a portrait of United Nations. With diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, I belong to a family with very different preferences when it comes to food. Growing up in Taiwan, I love Asian food, but my father-in-law is not a fan, he prefers Puerto Rican cuisine. My husband, on the other hand, loves German meals. Then there is my mother-in-law, who likes Mexican food. As you could imagine, planning a meal out for the family isn't exactly easy. We have wasted a lot of time selecting a location that would satisfy everyone. Luckily for us, the one place that everyone always agrees on is Olive Garden.

It should not come as a surprise to anyone that my kids' favorite thing at the Olive Garden is their garlic bread sticks. They love the freshly baked bread and we do too.

I started my meal with their salad, which was really tasty.
DH chose soup instead. We love that we could get unlimited salad and soup with our entrees.
Right now, Olive Garden has a great special going on. With the "Buy one and Get one" promotion for just $12.95, you could get a dish to enjoy there and get another dish to go. I got the Fettuccine Alfredo and it was delicious! I shared some of my pasta with my kids and they both loved it as well. For my take home dish, I picked Spaghetti with Four Cheese Meat Sauce. Being a stay at home mom, I love this combo. Not only that I get to enjoy my pasta dish at the restaurant, I like that I could take another pasta dish to enjoy at home the next day. It definitely is super nice to take my little guy out for a playdate at the park in the morning and then go home to enjoy a meal that does not require any cooking on my part.
In addition to the dish I got, we also got a couple of other dishes to share. Grilled Sausage & Peppers Rustica was one of the dishes that caught my husband's eyes.
The Venetian Apricot Chicken from their Lighter Italian Fare Menu is great for anyone who wants something with lower calories.
Although I enjoying cooking for my family, it is still nice to enjoy a meal out and spending quality time together that way. One of the tender moments I was able to captured with my camera was my husband showing our daughter how to properly roll up her pasta with a fork and spoon.
DD was so proud of herself when she finally got it!
In the time we spent there, wonderful family memories were created! We enjoy going to the Olive Garden. If you haven't been there lately, be sure to visit one soon so you don't miss out on their "Buy One, Take One" promotion.

Win it!
One of my lucky readers will get to win a $75 gift card to Olive Garden. The giveaway ends on April 21, 2013.
