Sunshine Kids Monterey Booster Car Seat Review & Giveaway -- ENDED

With a husband who is 6'5", it means that my kids are very large for their age. DD is at the 95 percentile and baby G is at the 99 percentile. Basically, my kids aren't only bigger than the average kids in their age groups, it also means that they outgrow baby gears much more quickly than the other kids too. DD already outgrew a few car seats and now she is tall and heavy enough for booster seats. Sunshine Kids make products for kids like mine. If you are looking for booster car seats that will last your kids a long time or if you have large kids like mine, then you need to check out Sunshine Kids. The company sent us a Monterey Booster seat to review.

We were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to installed and also how comfortable it was. Not that I sat in the seat myself, but my 5 year old daughter told me that it was as comfortable as her bed :). DD's favorite part of her new booster car seat is the dual cup holders -- see photo below. There is a cup holder on each side and when they are not in use, you could push them back in (so they are hidden). I really like this feature because with DD's other booster seats, the cup holder is designed like an after thought. What I mean is that the cup holder is just clipped onto the side of the booster seat, so whenever I moved the booster seat from one car to another, the cup holder often falls off. I have misplaced a few cup holders that way. As such, I really like the built in cup holders on the Sunshine Kids Monterey Booster Car Seat.

The booster car seat is good for children 30 lbs to 120 lbs and 38" to 63" in height. Because I am a believer of car seats and the importance of child safety when traveling with my kids in a vehicle, I will be keeping my kids in car seats as long as possible. It is good to know that this is a car seat that we could use for years to come.

You can use this booster car seat as a backless car seat if you like.
However, I prefer using it with the back/top piece because it has the Side Impact Protection with reinforced sidewalls and headrest lined with EPS foam to protect DD's head and neck. The booster car seat actually came in 2 pieces, but it was really easy to snapped the back piece in place.
It is very easy to adjust the top part as your child grows. In this photo, I adjusted it to the very top so you can see that this is a booster car seat truly designed to last you years.
There is also a knob on the back that you can turn to adjust the width of the boost car seat to make it more comfortable for your child. Last but not least, the booster car seat comes with latch attachments that you could use with your car if your vehicle is latch-friendly.

All in all, we were impressed by the Sunshine Kids Monterey Booster Car Seat. Regardless of the height and weight of your child, safety comes first. It is nice to know that there are companies like Sunshine Kids that design booster seats with the bigger & taller kids in mind. The booster car seat is light enough for me to move from one car to another and it is also very easy to make adjustments on it so that your child could travel in it very comfortably.
