Nielsen-Massey Vanillas Review & Giveaway (ENDED)

Winning comment is #189!
I am not a chef, not even remotely close to being one. I am just a housewife who cooks daily and bakes regularly for her family. To be honestly, I am not much for an expert when it comes to vanilla extract. I do use a lot of it in my cooking, but I just buy whatever I can find at the supermarket. When I was given the chance to review Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, I was eager to give its products a try. I received the Organic Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract as well as the Organic Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Powder to review.
As I have said before, I am not a chef. Even though I might not be the best cook in the kitchen, I do know what I like and I liked Nielsen-Massey Vanillas. I used the Nielsen-Massey Vanillas I received to bake cookies, make homemade ice cream as well as pancakes and cinnamon buns. I did not think that the vanilla would make any difference, but I was surprised to find that the vanilla smelled wonderful and I thought that my food tasted just a tad bit better ;). It seems like using high quality products really did make a difference in the food I made for my family. I did not tell my family that I am using different vanillas in my cooking, I am taking full credit for the yummy food I made ^_^.

The best part of using Nielsen-Massey Vanillas? Besides the fact that they are great products? Well, they are organic! Now your food can taste good and be good for you too. To buy your own Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, please check its site to locate a retail store near you.

Many thanks to Nielsen-Massey Vanillas. The company has generously offered the same products I received as giveaway prizes to one of my lucky readers (US residents only please).

I allways thought that vanilla extract came from plantations in Southern Mexico and Central America. I was surprised to learn that vanilla can come from Madagascar or Jaimaca.

Aisling said...

I had never heard of Vanilla Powder before, so was interested to learn it can be used in dry mixes, in liquid or color-sensitive products, as a flavoring for beverages, and to add the flavor of Pure Vanilla to fresh fruit and baked goods. It is used measure for measure the same as Organic Pure Vanilla Extract.

Today, vanilla beans are grown in four main areas of the world. Each region produces vanilla beans with distinctive characteristics and attributes. Madagascar, an island off the east coast of Africa, is the largest producer of vanilla beans in the world and the ensuing vanilla is known as Madagascar Bourbon vanilla.
