Kazaz! Kids App Review

*I was given the opportunity to review the app with my child. I received compensation from the company. All opinions are my own and not influenced in anyway. My reviews are not always positive, but they are my personal and honest opinions. Other people's views and experiences with the show might be different from mine.

Launched by American Story Channel , Kazaz! is an iPad app featuring a world of interactive, animated original stories. Ideal for children ages 3 to 8, the digital stories combine sight, sound and touch to help maximize even the youngest child’s learning experience.

I downloaded the app for my 3 year old son to check out. As soon as I opened up the app for him, he was excited about using with it. When the app open up the home page, one could easily see the different options there were. We especially like that they are all large illustration icons so that our little guy could easily click on the story he would like to check out.
The G man was impressed by the Kazaz! design. While my kids love that we read to them every night before we go to bed, sometimes 1 story is just not enough. When this happens, it is useful to have an app like Kazaz! We started the app for him and our little guy immediately knew what to do -- this was a great indication that the app is user friendly even for young children. As the app read the story aloud to him, my son pressed the forward icon to turn to the next page. He listened as the story was read, carefully matching each word on the left hand side of the iPad screen with the reading. I thought this was a great way to encourage to learn the words and read along too.
Perhaps my favorite feature of the app is that at the end of the story, there are hidden learning gems like the photo below. The G man was captivated by videos of space after finishing his reading. It allowed him to apply what he had learned in the animated story and reflect it back to the real world.

Although there are a lot of different apps that will read stories to young children, I like the Kazaz! app because I feel that it takes an extra step to make learning fun and developing the kids' analytical skills at the same time.

Kazaz! extends the story experience with activities and information available on the Kazaz! Kids website and via Kazaz! Post, the planet’s exclusive newspaper.  Kazaz! will take advantage of Apple TV, so in the future the app can be enjoyed on the big screen, where the experience may be amplified with additional sights and sounds. Also coming soon, video versions of the stories will appear on the Kazaz! Kids YouTube Channel. This is only the beginning for Kazaz! and its parent company, American Story Channel. Future plans include additional stories, more sophisticated gamification experiences, availability in 11 languages, 3D figures in real gold and silver, and a children’s animated TV series, among other exciting developments.
