Miss You Like Crazy is a fuzzy-tailed, cozy story that offers comfort and ways of coping to kids whose moms go to work outside the home:
Walnut and his mom agree that it would be fun if he could go to work with her, and they fantasize about the adventures they could share. While they realize that scenario can't always happen, Walnut's mother assures him that he is always on her mind, and together they come up with ways to have a physical presence for each other even when at work or at school.
Working parents know that in spite of time away from home, their children are never far from their hearts and minds. This light-hearted story provides parents an opportunity to reassure children on their importance in busy parents' lives.
We were lucky enough to have received the "Miss You Like Crazy!" children's book to review. Because I am a stay at home mom, my kids have me by their side all the time. They don't really understand what it is like to have a full time working mother. However, since my husband works long hours, my kids definitely knows what missing daddy feels like when he is away for the entire day. "Miss You Like Crazy," is story about Walnut who misses his mother while she is away at work. Him and his mother fantasize an adventure where he would be small enough to be packed up in her briefcase and they could do all sorts of fun things together. The mom goes on to tell him about she too misses him. She has pictures of him on her computer, in her briefcase, at her desk and even in a locket that she wears around her neck. This is a wonderful story that tells a young child how a working parent misses him/her too when they are away at work.
