A few months ago, I was lucky enough to attending Women of Faith Conference and heard Richard E. Stearns (President of World Vision) speak. He had a power message about how 1 person doing good could trigger a domino effect. A small good you do might lead to larger changes that you would never imagine. Many of my friends sponsor children through World Vision. Through each person's financial support, these kids are able to attend school, eat and drink clean water. If you are not a ready to commit to sponsoring a child long term, I eager you to consider contributing in smaller ways.
Whether it’s the first draft of a gift list, a photo idea for holiday cards, or a location for a family gathering, many of us are already thinking of and planning for the holidays. The giving season quickly becomes too busy and hectic. Many of us forget the true meaning of the winter holidays. But a little thought and advanced planning make it easy to keep your heart in the holidays. Please consider checking out the The World Vision Gift Catalog, It offers more than 250 items that help fight poverty and save lives here in US and around the world. With a financial contribution, donors can select one of the 30+ Handcrafted Gifts that can be shared with a loved one and at the same time help a person in need.
I know that this year (just like the previous years), my kids will not be bombard with toys they don't need. Instead, we will sit down as a family and select which donations we would like to make through World Vision.

Many thanks to World Vision. The company has generously offered a Christmas Ornament Set as a giveaway prize to one of my lucky readers. This beautiful set of handmade Zakale wire & bead ornaments from Nairobi. Zakale crafts are made from recycled materials by Kenyan artisans, who received a loan from World Vision to grow their business and lift themselves out of poverty. The giveaway ends on Dec 13, 2013.
