Fall Thankful Tree Painting Project for Kids

I picked up a few large white canvas from the local hobby store for $1 each and I thought it would be fun to create a Fall theme painting with my kids.

To begin, I painted the white canvas blue. Then, I traced my kids hands and arms before painting them to look like trees.
On a paper plate, I poured out a bit of green, brown, yellow, red and navy blue paints. I told my kids to use their finger tips  to create some leaves for their trees.
For a while they were using one finger at a time, but it did not take long for them to realize that it would be faster to use all of their fingers. They would tap their finger tips in the paints and then press them onto the canvas. While DD worked on her tree (the taller one), G worked on his little tree.
All done! Once the paint was completely dried, I painted a coat of varnish over it to make the painting look glossy. Now we just need to find a place to hang it up.
This is a fun and easy painting project you could do with your kids. My kids really enjoyed getting messy and creating a master piece with their fingers.

Happy crafting!
