Prang Back to School Supplies Review

*I received free products for review purposes. I did not receive any other form of compensation from the company. All opinions are my own and not influenced in anyway. My reviews are not always positive, but they are my personal and honest opinions. Other people's views and experiences with the product or products might be different from mine.
I was contacted by the Dixon Ticonderoga company to review their Prang product line. To be honest, I have never heard of their products before, but since DD goes through a lot of markers, coloring pencils and pencils through out the year, we were ready to give their products a try.

DD received Prang classic markers, color pencils, watercolors and a pack of  Ticonderoga pencils to review. Just to make things easier for us, the company even sent us their competitors' products so we could compare the products.

As many of you already know, DD has been taking art lessons for a few years now. She spends 3 hours a week taking lessons. In addition to that, she also spends hours at home practicing and bettering her techniques. As such, you could imagine how many coloring pencils, markers and watercolors she goes through each month. When other mom are shopping for 1 pack of makers for back to school, I am buying a dozen to make sure that DD never runs out of her art supplies. I must admit that I usually buy the major brands that most of us are familiar with. It's not that I think they are great products, I actually don't give them much thought at all. I just buy them because it's the brand that I am familiar with.

Having tried and test the Prang products against their competitors' markers, watercolors and coloring pencils, we are completely sold. I was really impressed by the quality of Prang products. The colors for the color markers are bright. My daughter was especially impressed by the cap design to make sure that the ink does not dry out. The large triangular colored pencils are easy for my daughter's little hands to hold on to. We noticed that when she creates shades in her art work using these pencils, her hands could grip the pencil much more easily. DD was also impressed by the the watercolors. We actually stopped buying her pan sets because they only really good for 1 art project before she runs out of 1 or more colors. We love the Prang watercolor pan set because there is more of each color so DD doesn't run out of the colors as quickly. More importantly, the brush is sooooo much better too. If your child is a little artist who cares about his/her work, I highly recommend the Prang watercolor pan because the quality is seriously much better than the other brands we see in the stores. Last but not least, the Ticonderoga #2 pencils is great too. DD goes through a lot of pencils because she uses them to draw and also to do her homework. A huge problem we have is that DD pushes down so hard that her the tips of her pencils would break. I would sharpen her pencils for her, but I noticed that some of her pencils are just not very good quality. What I have learned from testing out Ticonderoga #2 pencils is that not all pencils are created equal. The Ticonderoga #2 pencils are better quality, the tips don't break as easily and they are also much easier to sharpen too.

All in all, we were very satisfied with the products we received to review and we would definitely recommend Prang products for kids everywhere.
