Dorfman Pacific has been expanding the sun protection portion of its line season after season and the 2013 Scala and Tropical Trends brand collections are the most exciting and comprehensive yet. The variety is enormous and exciting so that everyone is tempted to discover a hat they can enjoy that expresses their own personal style.
Solids, stripes and patterns in simple or high fashion silhouettes abound. Buckles, bows, ties and shells are just a few examples of the unique detailing included in the mix. Visors, fedoras, floppies, safari looks, caps, bucket shapes, boonies and large sun brims (up to 10 inches!) are all so appealing that most women will want several. Hats are featured in many wonderful materials, too. Cotton, raffia, toyo, sewn ribbon, and paper braid are just a few of many options. Priced affordably, this is a real possibility since most retail from $20 - $75.
There are many hat styles that can fold or roll up for travel or even to drop into a handbag or tote for daily use. Two very popular styles are LP44 and LP157. Both present great options for the busy fashionista and savvy women who want to protect their skin while looking great.
LP157 is a strikingly pretty brimmed hat. It is a floppy style with a 4-inch brim. It, too, is paper braid which is both chic and practical. It has a self sizing tie to adjust to one's head size and is offered in four color variations....all natural with different trim tipping the brim, including black, tea, turquoise and fuchsia. Each trim is very appealing and will accent many outfits. This style retails for about the same price point as the visor, $25. On top of all its fashion benefits, it carries the UPF Sun protection factor of 50 plus which is just what today's savvy women want as added protection to their daily summer outdoor routine! Another great advantage is its pack ability and recovery. It is light weight and bounces back into shape 1-2-3, therefore it can be easily stored in a beach bag or taken away on vacation. This hat is also ideal to wear at home for a walk and other activities like gardening.
I don't always wear hats when I am out in the sun -- even though I know I should. Mostly because I have found that they are uncomfortable to wear and sometimes the brim of the hat blocks my vision. I do have 1 sun hat that I wear when I am hanging out in our backyard, but due to its brim size and design, it is not the kind of hat I could stuff in my beach bag as I am heading out the door. When I received the Tropical Trends Brimmed Sunhat to review, I did not think I would like it as much as my other sunhat that costs 4 times more than the Dorfman Pacific one. However, after trying it, I noticed that it is just as comfortable as my other sunhat. More importantly, I love the fact that I could just roll it up and toss it in my beach bag. This is especially important to me because my kids are taking swimming lessons every afternoon now. I spent a lot of time in the pool with the G man for our Mommy & Me swimming classes. I have gotten significantly darker since we began these lessons 2 weeks ago. Being able to wear this cute brimmed sunhat not only blocks the sun from my eyes, it also protects my skin from sun damage. I love the fit and the design of this hat. The cost is also very reasonable. I would recommend it without any hesitations!
