When DD was a toddler, we did a lot of arts and crafts projects together. She always enjoyed them. However, when she got older, we got busier with lessons and school so we don't have as much time to do them as we used to. Furthermore, having an active younger sibling in the house means craft time is extra chaotic in our household, so we are just not as excited to do them.
Since school is getting out in just a few weeks, I have been thinking about all of the things I would like to do with the kids. The big thing on my list is definitely more arts and crafts. My big issue is that I don't really have spare time to gather up all of the materials and I am also in need of some project ideas. This is the reason why I think Wummelbox is such a great idea!
Inside of each box, there is 3 to 4 different craft projects. If you sign up for a monthly subscription, you will get a box with a particular theme and all of the projects your child gets to work on that month will be related to that theme. The box we received to review was all about the stone age. This was great because we have been on Paleo diet for some time now. DD did the crafts, played the games and we talked about the stone age and how the idea of Paleo diet is linked to how hunters and gathers used to eat. It helped DD understand our diets betters and she also had a lot of fun doing her crafts.
The craft kits are made for children age 3 to 8. DD didn't need much of my assistance when it came to craft time. We thought the projects were well put together. We also liked that all of the pieces were clearly quality items.
There are 3 different options you could sign up for. You could simply order 1 box to try out, you could do a 3 months subscription or you could sign up for 12 months. Since we really like the box, we plan on signing up for the 3 months subscription so that DD could continue to do crafts throughout the summer.
