Johnson's Baby Cares

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for JOHNSON's Baby. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating
I remember how tough things were being a first time mom. To be honest, many of my friends had kids before I did and they made motherhood look easy. Their kids were well behaved and happy all the time. I knew it would not a walk in the park, but I never suspected things to be as hard as they were. Mostly, I remember being uncertain about everything I was doing. Was I dressing my daughter too warm? Too little clothing? Too much clothing? Was she getting enough nutrients in her diet? Should she be eating more? When is she going to walk? When am I supposed to potty train her? How do I know that she is on track developmentally? Am I being the best mother I could be? I could go on and on with all of my questions. I was worried about how well I was doing. I was a nervous wreck. I left my job to be a full time stay at home mom and my husband was working all the time, so I turned to other moms for help. I was lucky that I met a group of women whose kids were the same age as my daughter. We shared all of our ups and downs, we celebrated our kids' milestones as well as supported one another through our children's struggles.

This Mother's Day, I got to spend it with my love ones! I spent the afternoon with my best friend Jessica and then my family took me out to wonderful meal. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by my family and friends. On Mother's Day this year, I remembered all of the moms who guided me through the first stage of motherhood and I am so grateful for them. Because I remember how tough the first couple of years are, I did managed to send out a few cards using Johnson's Baby Cares to my friends who just became new mommies for the first time this year.

Motherhood is not easy. As moms, we all need assurance that we are doing a good job. For new moms, their kids are not old enough to say "Thank you," "I love you," or "You are a great mom," so the assurance needs to come elsewhere. I think it is important that we support other moms whenever possible. If you could look back and try to recall all of stresses associated with being a new mom, then please reach out to a new mom to let her know that she is doing a good job. Personally, being able to vent to other moms and hear that they were sharing the same troubles I did helped me understand that I was not alone in my struggles. More importantly, these women helped me laughed through much of it. They assured me that I was doing the best I could. I could not imagine what my first year of motherhood would be like without them by my side.

If you know a working mom who is struggling to balance her work and family life, someone who is going through a difficult time, or a new mom who is trying to gain her footing in motherhood, you could give her some assurance by sending her a card through Johnson's Baby Cares. The service is completely free to you, but for every card sent, shared, or liked, Johnson's Baby will donate $1 to Save the Children, up to $150,000 to benefit early childhood education. As such, be sure to send a card to that mom who could use some assurance. Your card will bring a smile to her face and benefit a great cause at the same time!
