Dessert Designer Review & Prize Pack Giveaway -- ENDED

Any day—from boring Tuesdays to special birthdays to Valentine's Day —is better when you have dessert. Dessert Designer by Capstone Young Readers (http://www.capstoneyoungreaders.com/) shows creative kids and their parents that it's OKAY to play your food! Using store-bought baked goods, easy to find ingredients and step-by-step instructions, Dessert Designer focuses on the BEST part of baking -- DECORATING! Kids can let their imaginations run wild by turning cakes into roller coasters, cupcakes into glitzy armadillos and cookies and candy into sweet sushi and rainbows (complete with a pot of gold).

Author Dana Meachen Rau focuses on the art of design (not baking) and with her simple techniques and instructions, kids will be able to design and decorate like a pro, with no baking skills or fancy pastry supplies required. The results are whimsical, inspiring, and utterly gorgeous desserts. I've attached a few interior pages from the book so you can see how deliciously fun these creations truly are!

Dessert designer is a book that contains 51 fun creations that's creative and yummy for the family. Written for kids age 9 to 13, the book is filled with detailed step by step instructions for each creation. The instructions are easy to follow and the final product looks so adorable that it's difficult for us not to try recreate them as soon as the book arrived.

While most of the creations are easy to duplicate, there are a few that I think would likely require parents' assistance if your child decided to give them a try. All in all, we thought that the book offers many great creations that we haven't seen in the past. The book definitely has gotten my daughter excited about creating some special sweet treats on her own.
To buy the book we received to review, please go to http://www.capstoneyoungreaders.com/products/dessert-designer

Win it:
One of my lucky reader will get to win a prize pack that consists of the Dessert Designer book, a spatula and a set of rainbow mixing bowls. This giveaway ends on Feb 23, 2013.
