Hot-Can Instant Warmth Review & Giveaway -- ENDED

When I was contacted by Hot-Can to review their products, I was definitely intrigued.  I received a package of 6 Hot-Can to check out. To heat up the can, I simply turned it upside down and pressed down on the button on the bottom of the can. I gently shake  it for about 20 seconds, turn it up right and then wait for my can to heat up.

The first can I tried was the hot tea. It took less than 2 minutes for the tea to become hot, and they were not kidding when they said that it is hot! It is pretty hot so you will need to be careful with it. The drink stayed hot as I drank it. I was thoroughly impressed by the time I was done.

As far as the taste was concerned, I would say that they were better than I expected, not the best couple of tea I ever had, but for the technology that made it possible, I would give it 2 thumbs up.

After trying all of the Hot-Can products, my husband and I debated on why this product is necessary and who needs it. We agreed that it is great for camping, or traveling, for busy moms/dad  on the go, and for emergency stock pile in the car.
Although we really liked the product, we were consumed about the impact that the Hot-Can has on our environment. Then we learned the following on the company website:

" Is Hot-Can harmful to the environment?

No. Not only is the container recyclable, it also complies with beverage container recycling laws, or “Bottle Bills”, that provide financial incentive to consumers for recycling. For more information please visit
www.bottlebill.org. In addition, our Hot-Can (unlike other self-heating products currently in the market), only produces natural bi-products: water, calcium carbonate, and calcium hydroxide. These bi-products are the same minerals that make up coral reefs in our oceans and are a naturally occurring mineral in our soil and are frequently added to soil in farming to enhance the pH balance.

Moreover, it's almost impossible to boil exactly the right amount of water for a cup of coffee -- there's always a little left over. This means you're wasting precious power, water and time, not to mention drinking twice-boiled water in your next cup. The Hot-Can heats the perfect cup of coffee in less then 3 minutes, whilst using up to 65% less energy than a standard kettle in the process."

After learning more about the technology for Hot-Can, we were even more impressed. We can't wait to see what other products the company develops in the future.

Many thanks to Hot-Can. The company has generously offered 1 pack of 6 mixed products as a giveaway prize to one of my lucky readers. This giveaway ends on  Feb 5th, 2013.

There's not a dvd as far as I can tell, but the Hot Cans would make a great lunch treat or afternoon pick-me-up at work, especially for my husband. I'd also love to keep one or two in the car for unexpected delays, etc. You never know!

Thanks!
