On a recent craft night, we made some journals for ourselves (and the kids). This project is great with older kids, but fun for just us moms as well.
To begin, start out with a composition book. I got some in the clearance section at Target for $0.20 each .
Use spray adhesive on the scrapbooking paper and cover the composition journal with it. Then fold the excess papers in and glue them down.
Next, take another piece of scrapbooking paper and glue it to the inside of the journal cover (do the same for both the inside of the front and back covers). This will cover up the excess paper you glued down earlier.
You can then decorate it with stamps, rhinestones or ribbons. Note: if you want to tie a ribbon to the journal like I did, be sure to tie the ribbon before you glue the inside with the exact sheet of scrapbook paper. This will ensure that the ribbon stay put.
This is what the front of my journals look like.
