Arm & Hammar Baking Soda Review

During the holiday season, I find myself baking a whole lot. From apple pies, zucchini bread to sugar cookies, my oven is on almost every day. Because I bake so much, you can imagine that Arm & Hammer Baking Soda is one product that I can not live without. However, besides baking, did you know that there are a lot more uses for it?
Because my kids have extremely sensitive skin, I stopped using regular laundry detergent a few years ago. To wash their clothes and bedding, I use soap nuts and baking soda. While soap nuts works well enough to get the dirt out of my kids' clothes, I have found that adding baking soda to the wash really boost the soap nut's performance. By using soap nuts and baking soda, I end up spending far less money and my kids no longer have rashes caused by store bought laundry detergents. I also use a lot of baking soda when I wash baby G's cloth diapers. I have discovered that by using baking soda, a lot more stains are removed before I dry the cloth diapers out in the sun.

In addition to using baking soda for our laundry, I also use it to clean the kitchen counters. Although I have used organic cleaning products in the past, when I ran out of the my cleaning supplies, I decided to tried baking soda instead. I just sprinkled it on my counter and then wipe it down with a damp cloth before rinse it completely. It's amazing how effective baking soda is at cleaning up the messes my kids leave behind every day.

Did you know that baking soda is also great for cleaning the dirt off your fruit and vegetables?  All you have to do is to sprinkle a little baking soda on a damp cloth and gently scrub the dirt of them before rinsing. Baking soda is food safe!

Before our family members get together for holiday meals at my in law's house, my mother in law would polish her silverware with baking soda. All  you have to do is take 3 part baking soda and 1 part water, mix them together to make a paste. You would then use a clean cloth to rub the paste onto the silverware and then rinse to dry. This is something that my mother in law has done for many years and it really does make the silverware look amazing.

I love Arm and Hammer baking soda because it  has so many different uses and using it as a cleaning product have saved us a lot of money. For this holiday season, no matter how much baking or cleaning you need to do, don't forget to use baking soda. It will not only make doing these tasks easier for you, it will also be great for your pocket book .
