Radio Rebel DVD Review & Giveaway

On June 19th, Image Entertainment releases the Disney Channel Original Movie RADIO REBEL on DVD! Based on the book Shrinking Violet by Danielle Joseph, the story follows Tara Adams (Debby Ryan: "Jessie," Sixteen Wishes), an ordinary high school junior with an extraordinary secret—she’s Radio Rebel, the most popular radio DJ in Seattle! Bonus material includes 5 new featurettes including Debby Ryan's hot music video for "We Got the Beat!"

Our Review: 

This movie is about a high school girl name Tara who is too shy to voice her opinions with her school mates, except for when she is on air. Tara's secret identity is Radio Rebel and she is able to speak her mind and give voice to everyone on her radio show. When her show got picked up by her stepfather's radio station, the principal of her school demands Radio Rebel to reveal her identity or prom will be canceled. The radio station decides to throw the students a MORP (prom spelled backwards) and Radio Rebel is crowned the queen. Radio Rebel gains acceptance from her classmates after she reveals her true identity. While the storyline itself is a bit predictable, I imagine that it would be entertaining for a young teen to watch. The movie shows the importance of voicing your thoughts and being able to stand up for yourself. This DVD comes with plenty of extras for Radio Rebel fans. We especially enjoyed watching the deleted scenes and bloopers. The music video was entertaining as well.
