Conair ExtremeSteam Professional Hand Held Garment Steamer Review

Are you wasting too much time on the tedious chore of de-wrinkling your family’s clothes? Some garments just cannot be ironed, and those that can, can take way too long. Garment steamers are a great addition – or alternative – to traditional irons for the care of your finest fashions and home fabrics, and the Conair® ExtremeSteam™ Professional Hand Held Garment Steamer is the perfect choice.

It’s lightweight and handheld, so it’s easy to set up and use - garments can be steamed right on the hanger. It’s great for soft fabrics that are difficult to press, such as jersey or chiffon, or tailored items that are challenging to iron, such as suits, jackets, etc. and it has dual temperature settings, unlike most other steamers. It’s a little workhorse than can go from freshening and deodorizing your clothes, to a wedding where you can steam the entire bridal party’s dresses in a matter of minutes! Just fill ExtremeSteam™ with tap water and in one minute, you’ll get 15 minutes of continuous steam. It comes with three attachments to easily handle all of your fabric challenges – a creaser attachment, a brush attachment to remove lint and hair, and a fabric attachment for delicate, fine fabrics. You can even use it to press and freshen your drapes, comforters and more. With ExtremeSteam™, you’ll get more wear out of your clothes before you have to send them to the dry cleaner and save time and money!

I am not a fan of ironing clothes. In truth, I try to avoid it whenever possible. I have been pretty lucky. When I first got married, my husband worked at a job where he had to wear dress shirts every day. He knew I hated ironing so he ironed his own clothes and he even ironed mine too :). Now, he works in an office where he is able to dress as causally as he likes; this leads to me never have to iron.  Since we live in t-shirts and jeans all year long, I try pretty hard to avoid buying clothes that would need me to iron them.  However, once in awhile I do come across a shirt, a skirt or a dress that I must have that actually requires me to iron after each wash.

A good example is this dress I bought. I liked wearing it, but I definitely did not like ironing it. The idea of standing over an ironing board for 20 minutes on a hot summer day just isn't appealing to me.
Then, I was offer the chance to review Conair ExtremeSteam Professional Hand Held Garment Steamer. I have heard about how a steamer is just so much easier to use and how they really get the wrinkles out, so I happily agreed to give the ExtremeSteam a test run. I opened up the box, fill it with water and in less than 5 minutes I had the ExtremeSteam ready to be used. I was surprised by how quickly it warmed up and how quickly it got rid of those wrinkles as well. This was what my dress looked like after 5 minutes of steaming. I was very happy with the results.
The Conair ExtremeSteam Professional Hand Held Garment Steamer comes with 3 attachments. It is very easy to use. I also like the fact that it is so compact. When I was done using it, I just wrap the cord around the steamer and stored it in my bathroom cabinet. Most importantly, it got the job done in very little time.
