Greased Lightning Multipurpose Cleaner Review

I was contacted by Greased Lightning to review its Multipurpose Cleaner. Since I am always having a hard time getting the grease build-ups off my kitchen stove, I happily took on the opportunity to try the product. With the holiday season here, I am cooking and baking non stop for playdates and parties. I must admit that I am not a fan of cleaning up the messes I make in the kitchen. Sure, I clean the kitchen every night before I go to bed, but I really dislike cleaning the grease off the stoves. I usually ask my husband to help me clean it because he is able to scrub the grease off like no body's business. Of course, after years of me asking him to clean the stove tops, he is pretty tired of doing it. I know that he would like a break from scrubbing grease once in a while, so having the Multipurpose Cleaner on hand to test out was a nice break for him.

After trying the product, I was surprised how nicely it removed the grease off the kitchen stove -- it was very little elbow work on my part. I was also able to use this same product to remove soap scum off our glass shower doors. The only thing I would recommend is that make sure you use this product in a well ventilated area. When I use this to clean the bathroom showers, I would do it in the morning, open the windows to let it air out for a couple of hours.

Hallmark Interactive Storybook & Story Buddy Review & -Rafflecopter- Giveaway

I am sure many of you have seen the Hallmark Interactive Storybook & Story Buddy commercial. Every time it is on TV, DD would ask for one. Lucky for her, Hallmark made her wish come true by sending her the cute little bunny named Abigail to check out.

We took the bunny out of its box and DD could hardly wait for us to read to her. The first time Abigail "talked," DD screamed, "Mommy, it responded." I laughed and I was amazed by two things. First of all, I couldn't believe that my 5 year old knew what "responded" meant -- the power of TV commercials continues to surprised me, lol. Second, I could not believe how excited she got. I thought her reaction to the talking bunny was priceless! I have to admit that it was just like the TV commercials.

We read the entire book to her. DD enjoyed the story reading, but she really loved the bunny. Abigail is very soft and cuddly. In addition to the book it came with, there are 2 additional books for Abigail that she will respond to as well. I was also able to download an app from App Store onto my iPad so that DD could have the app read the book to her as often and as many times as she likes. Even if you don't have a Story Buddy, you can still get the free apps from the App Store and get the stories for each Story Buddy; however, I thought that having the story buddy on hand really does make it much more special and fun.

Christmas 2011 Holiday Photos

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.We were quite busy for a couple of weeks leading up to Christmas, but we had a lot of fun celebrating the holiday with our family and friends.

One of the things we did before Christmas was taking the kids to local Candy Cane Lane. Because DH worked late, we did not go until well after dinner time. It was really cold so we only walked half of the way. We will have to do this earlier next year. In any case, baby G sat in his stroller and did not seem to care about the lights and decorations, but DD had a lot of fun checking out Candy Cane Lane.

Another activity we did was make Christmas ornaments for family members. We used different cookie molds from last year. 

With some salt, flour, water and a bit of food dye, DD was able to make a bunch of Christmas ornaments to give away.

Before going into the oven to bake.

She decorated the homemade ornaments using markers, glue and rhinestones.

This Christmas, we started 2 new family traditions. The first one is that on Christmas morning, before opening presents, each one of us would write a note of what we are thankful for. Since DD does not really know how to write yet, we had her draw it out. She said that she was thankful for her family, so she drew grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, herself and baby G. After everyone was done, we put our notes and drawing into a shoe box that we will put away and bring out every year to add to it.

This year, we also started the 3 gifts rule. Since there's 3 wise men, we thought 3 gifts was just the right number for the kids gifts. In addition, for the 3 gifts DD will get every Christmas from now on, she will get "something she needs," "something she wants" and "something to share."

Her first gift from us was a kid's bible. It is something she had been asking for, but it is also something that she will be sharing with her little brother.

Her uncle Scott sent a Hello Kitty lunch box to her from Taiwan.

Inside the lunch box is a set of 3 stainless Hello Kitty containers and each container comes with a matching Hello Kitty spoon.

Her second gift from us (something she wants) was a doll.

For something she needs, we got her a little carry on luggage that she will be using for our trip to Taiwan.

After we opened the Christmas gifts, the kids got ready to spent Christmas day with my in laws.

Wholly Guacamole Review & -Rafflecopter- Prize Pack Giveaway

My husband LOVES Wholly Guacamole. In fact, he loves it so much that we stopped buying them from our local supermarket (because I don't want to make 3 trips to the store in a week). We now buy Wholly Guacamole in bulk from Cost Co. We always have Wholly Guacamole in our fridge because it's my husband's favorite snack to eat when he gets home from work.

Recently, we received a package of Wholly Guacamole products to review, and my husband could not stop smiling, lol.

We received the snack packs in classic and spicy favors. For some reason, we have always had a hard time finding the spicy ones, so my husband was overjoyed. The snack packs are great for his lunch box, but it's also a good size for snacking at night.

My husband commented right away that we should have tried that combination before because it was such a great idea.

Zak Designs! Emeril Mixing Bowls with Lids Review & -Rafflecopter- Giveaway -- ENDED

I cook daily for my family. I pack DD and DH lunches every day they have work and school, then at night, I always make sure that I make enough food for dinner and leftover for them to enjoy the following day. When you cook as often as I do, cooking tools are very important. I want to spend as little time preparing and cleaning up as possible because I rather used that time hanging out with my family. With this in mind, Zak Designs! sent me a set of Emeril Mixing Bowls with Lids to review.

I have been a huge fan of Zak Designs! products for a long time now. I have many of their products so I definitely felt like I got a special Christmas gift when the package arrived at my door. The three bowls I received were 3 qt, 2 qt and 1.5 qt in size. They came with lids and when not in used I am able stacked them into one another for storage.

These bowls are BPA, PVC, phthalate, and lead safe. They are also food safe, stain resistant, and dish washer safe. My favorite part is that on the bottom of the bowl is the word, "BAM!". When my guests are finishing the food in the bowl, they see just a bit of the phase and would often ask me about it.

For the holiday parties I hosted, I used these bowls the small size bowl for potato chips and the large ones for 2 different types of salads. I love that I was able to use the bowls to prepare my salad and serve the food from them as well. Doing so not only saved me time, it also meant that I had less dishes to wash when the parties were over.

After trying these bowls for a couple of parties I had, I thought the sizes were great for serving food out of them. I also found myself reaching for them when I am just preparing meals for my family -- to hold vegetables I have cut up before cooking them or as a storage for washed fruits.

As always, I found myself in love with another set of Zak Designs! products. I am have more parties for New Year's and I am looking forward to using them again for sure. MAM BabyProducts Review

I was contacted to review MAM baby products and I received an assortment of their items to try out with baby G. I am sure that MAM is a common enough brand that most moms are familiar with. I actually use their baby bottles with my little guy, but I haven't tried their other products, so it was nice to check them out in person.

I received 3 set of pacifiers to review. Since baby G does not use pacifiers, I passed them onto my cousin who had only a few months after I did. The pacifiers are made from ultra soft silicone and they are BPA free, so you can rest assure that they are safe to be placing in your baby's mouth. I love the designs on these pacifiers. I thought they were all really cute. My cousin's baby has been using them and I was told that they were a huge hit with both the parents and the baby.

Of course, if you are using pacifiers, a pacifier keeper is a must. I love the design of the MAM clip because it comes with a cover so that when the pacifier is not in use you can put the nipple part into the cover to help keep it clean.

I also received a toothbrush to try out with baby G. My little guy happens to hate it when I try to brush his teeth, but the head of the brush is small so I can fit it into his mouth easily and the handle is designed so that I could have a nice grip on it. With this toothbrush, I am able to clean his teeth as quickly as I need to -- since he does not like it when I do that ;).

The teether I received came with 7 different teething textures. Although we do have other teether at home, this one has become baby G's favorite. I suspect that it is because the teether is easy to hold onto. He loves chewing on this. Because it is BPA free, Lead free, PVC free and Phthalate free, I don't have to worry and wonder about baby G's safety when he uses it.

Last but not least, I received 2 bottles to check out. Now that baby G has turned 10 months old, he is able to hold his bottles. The Hold Me Bottle along with the Trainer Bottle come with soft spout and handles that will help baby G transition from baby bottles to slippy cups (eventually). The soft spout on these bottles is the first step toward independent drinking. Baby G still has some troubles with them, but I love seeing that he is getting at using these bottles all the time.
