Gazillion Bump-N-Go Bubble Bug Review & Giveaway -- ENDED

We love Gazillion Bubbles! I was first introduced to the company when DD was 2 years old. My friend Teresa who had a little boy just a couple of months older than DD bought Gazillion Bubbles at Toys R Us and discovered how much her kids loved it. She thought it was the prefect gift for kids. So every time there is a kid's birthday party, she would buy an outfit along with a Gazillion Bubbles as his/her birthday gift. At DD's 2nd birthday party, she received a Gazillion Bubbles toys along with a dress from Teresa, and that's when our love affair with their products began.

Over the years, we have purchased a number of Gazillion Bubbles toys and we loved them all. This year, DD was lucky enough to have received 2 of their brand new products to review. She received the Gazillion Bubble Cyclone and Gazillion Bump-N-Go Bubble Bug in the mail.

If you haven't tried Gazillion Bubbles toys, you have to give them a try. These products really do make A LOT of bubbles. The kids seriously go crazy for them. Each toy comes with a bottle of solution you can use. However, I must warn you that the solutions do run out fairly quickly (probably because the machines make so much bubbles in such a short span of time). I recommend picking up additional solutions when you buy the toys for your kids. There is nothing more sad than the kids wanting to playing with their bubble makers and you don't have the solutions for them. You can try to make the solutions on your own, but personally, I have not had any success in that field. I noticed that my solution is never as good as the Gazillion Bubble Solution I purchased. I usually pick up 2 large bottles and that's enough to last us the entire summer.

Besides the toys we received to review, the company also offers a lot of other fun toys to choose. Be sure to pick up some Gazillion Bubbles toys the next time you go to Toys R Us. They make great summer / outdoor toys.

Toofeze Baby Teether Review & Giveaway -- ENDED

Teething is no fun for the baby. Many babies will cry and fuss through out this process. As a mother, I know that this is not easy for many of us. Not only that it's stressful to hear your baby cry constantly, it is also not comfortable for the little ones. Toofeze offers a baby teether that might just be what you are looking for.

This baby teether comes with a Soft silicone handle so that it is easy for the baby to get a firm grip on it. In the center of it, the teether has a stainless steel disk so you can dip it in ice or cold water to cool it down for the baby to provide him/her extra comfort with swelling and inflammation. Toofeze is all natural and non-toxic , so you don't have to worry about using this with your baby.

Baby G still does not have enough control with his little fingers without dropping his teether constantly. However, the nice thing is that I can clean it up very easily. I could either wash it with some soap or water or just pop it into the dish washer. So far, baby G seems like the teether and he certainly does try to chew it whenever he could.

Strawesome Glass Straw Review & Giveaway

I like using straws with my drinks. In the past, I would buy a large package of plastic straws from the store to use. However, since we have gone "green," we have stopped using plastic straws at home. We have been using glass straws instead. Strawesome sent me a decorative straw to review. An Unexpected Adventure

A couple of weekends ago, I noticed that there was steam coming out of our pool. I thought that it was odd, so I decided to investigate further. Much to my dismay, I discovered that the pool had been completed heated. Apparently, when our broken pool pump timer got replaced, the repairman left the heat running along with the pump. Because it had been raining so we had not been outside. By the time I discovered the heated pool, it had been running for a whole week straight. I was not happy -- to say the least. All I could think about was how bad our bill was going to be this month. My husband then remind me that there was nothing to be done about it. We could not reverse time to shut it off.

True, so true...

When life gives me a lemon, I make lemonade. I took DD swimming in the giant bath tub in our back yard. It was still raining a bit that morning when we went out to the pool. DD had a blast swimming. I must admit that I, too, enjoyed swimming in a pool that was 80 degrees. There is nothing quite like swimming in a warm pool with the cool breeze in the air and the rain sprinkling down on you. "Is this how the wealthy people live," I had wondered. If I was rich, I would heat my pool all year long -- I know, I know, I don't dream big, do I? Lol.

While we had fun in the pool, I was worry and stress free. But, let's see how worry and stress free I am when the bill comes ;).

Pint Size Productions Sandra Boynton Plush Review & Giveaway -- ENDED

This chicken is not for eating, it is for playing and cuddling! The Philadelphia Chicken is 12" in height, just the perfect size for a child to hold and hug. Pint Size Productions offers a number of plush and the chicken just happens to be the one DD picked to review.

While it does not resemble anything like the chicken on her dinner plate (luckily), it is soft and cute. When it arrived at our house, DD's first reactions was, " Wow, mommy, it is sooooo cute! It looks just like Grandma's chicken." No, she was not referring to a real chicken. She was actually talking about a wooden rooster that we bought for my mother in law a few years ago. My mother in law loves chickens and roosters so her house is filled with all sorts of rooster and chicken decorations. Now, DD is a proud owner of a chicken-- her very first one, actually.

D-Link DCS-932L Review

I was contacted by D-Link to review their DCS-932L. I haven't never heard of D-Link before, but I must admit that I was very curious of how well their product works, so I decided to give it a try.
Setting up is fairly simple. You just need to connect the cables, plug in the camera and then run the installation program. To view what the camera is seeing, you simplylog on to mydlink.com, choose your device to start viewing. The camera works with iphone or android app for on the go viewing.

Since I do not have an iphone, I was not abe to test it out with an iphone. However, I did test it out with my android. I thought that the video quality was pretty decent. Definitely much better picture quality than my baby monitor with video viewing capability. The image is more crisp. But, since my baby monitor works great and we already had it all set up, we don't plan on switch it over to the D-Link DCS-932L.
I thought that this would be great in 2 situations (although I am sure there are more, but 2 came to mind as soon as I received it.) My friend's home was broken into on Christmas eve, she was out of town and on Christmas day her stepson went to fed her cat and that's when he discovered that someone broken into the home and robbed them blind. Many of her friends suggested getting a camera with the same features that D-Link DCS-932L offers. You see, if she was monitoring her home on her iphone while she was away, she could have contacted the police in time to stop the break in. We have a full home security system, so this is not how we would have used this device, but getting a security system set up is pretty costly, I think D-Link DCS-932L would be a good alternative for someone on a tight budget. I know that my friend could have really used something like this just this past Christmas.

You could also use this device as a nanny cam. Have a new nanny that you are not sure you could trust or you are simply too worried about your kids to enjoy a night out with your spouse? Well, this camera will allow you to check on the the nanny with your smart phone no matter where you are. Whenever we go out for a date, we have our favorite baby sitter come over to watch the kids. We have known Tiffany (our sitter) for 5 years now, so we trust her 100%. However, it took us a long time to build that trust. For parents who don't have that solid trust with their sitter or nanny yet, this would a good tool to ease that concern. However, I must mention that I don't know what the law is on setting up a camera like this at your home to monitor the sitter/nanny. So if you do decide to set one up, be sure to check your state law to make sure you are not committing any crimes while you are attempting to protect your child.

I am sure that there are many other uses for this camera. I think that this would make a great gift for a dad who likes technology. The device is easy enough to set up and I love that there are no hidden charges or fees. You just pay for the cost of the camera, that's it. There is no monthly fee or additional service charges to use it.

Disneyland Tuesdays

I am finally catching up on some photos I took. These are pictures from our last two visits to Disneyland. My friend Bushra and her little girl went with us. The girls get along so well together, plus I always enjoy Bushra's company, so we had a wonderful time. Oh, and it was nice to have another mommy with me because whenever I had to use the restroom, I did not have to dragged the stroller with with 2 kids with me, it sure made things a lot easier. Bathroom break by myself, priceless, lol! After a day of fun rides, we stopped for a nice snack break before heading out.

We love our visits to Disneyland, we are going to be totally bummed when we are blocked out for the entire summer. On the upside, we hate fighting the massive crowd (mostly tourists from overseas) in the hot summer heat. Standing in the sun for hours waiting for rides, that we will not miss...

Pretzel Crisps Review & Giveaway -- ENDED

Rethink pretzels with Pretzel Crisps! These pretzels are so delicious that you have to try it to believe it! My family was lucky enough to have received a bag of each favor from their Deli collection to review. While they were all very tasty, my favorite was the "Everything." It had poppy seeds, sesame seeds, onions and garlic with just a pinch of salt. I also thought the original was great. It was very good with hummus. My daughter was such a fan that I ended up packing some in her lunch box for preschool.

Aerobie Sprint flying ring Review & Giveaway -- ENDED

I was contacted by Aerobie to review their Sprint flying ring. I have never seen or heard of the product before, but after watching a short video of it on the company's website, I thought it would fun for DD to try it out.
The flying ring is thin and easy for little kids to grip. It took DD a couple of tries to figure out how to throw it properly, but once she was able to toss it herself, the flying ring really does fly... it just goes and goes. DD loves that it could go so far and I love that she gets so much exercise when she plays with it. Since the flying ring goes really far, she would have to run to it each time to pick it up. Whenever she plays with this, she always takes a nice long nap that same afternoon for wearing herself out, lol.

SpongeBob Squarepants Heroes of Bikini Bottom DVD Review

‘Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?’ Well, if you have kids, then you probably already know the answer to that question :). On June 14, Nickelodeon is releasing Heroes of Bikini Bottom DVD.
The Episodes are:

SpongeBob and Patrick travel back in time to see the young Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.

“The Bad Guy Club for Villains”

SpongeBob and Patrick watch Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy fight bad guys.

“Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful”

SpongeBob “helps” Squirdward clean up the city of Bikini Bottom.

“A Pal for Gary”

SpongeBob brings Gary a pet that terrorizes him.

SpongeBob and Patrick buy a toy and have to learn how to share.

SpongeBob goes with Mr. Krabs to the Cheapest Crab Convention.

Squidward bets SpongeBob that he cannot go a day without crying.

Our Review:
Although we have heard of SpongeBob Squarepants, we actually did not start watch this animation until a couple of years ago. DD was really fascinated by it (almost obsessed with it, to be honest). She wanted to watch it every time it was on TV and there were a lot of re-runs. Soon enough, my husband and I found ourselves watching it with her because the show is entertaining for adults as well. So, you can imagine how excited DD was when we received SpongeBob Squarepants Heroes of Bikini Bottom DVD to review. DD watched all of the episodes in one setting. She enjoyed watching the DVD and it definitely kept her attention the entire time. There were a couple of episodes that she was especially in love with. She loved "Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful." After watching this particular episode, she told me that she wanted to clean up all of the trash in the world so that people will make a statue of her, lol. While I am pretty sure this is not something she could accomplish, I was happy to hear that she wanted to keep the world clean. Another episode DD really enjoyed was "Yours, Mine and Mine." She thought that the Patty Pal from the Kiddie Meal was really cute. SpongeBob and Patrick had a hard time sharing the toy and Patrick ended up eating Patty Pal -- DD commented that it was not nice of Patrick to not share with his friend and that she would share her toys with her friends for sure. I think it is great that DD is able to learn something from each episode and reflect upon it in her interactions with her friends.

If you or your child is a fan of SpongeBob Squarepants, I would recommend picking up this DVD. The official release date is June 14.
