Soup Day Children's Picture Book Review & Giveaway -- ENDED

DD really enjoys this book because she loves cooking and baking with me. Sometimes it is hard having her in kitchen because I feel like I can't take my eyes off her in case she ends up doing something dangerous and hurts herself. But, I know that she really has a lot of fun cooking with me. After reading Soup Day, she asked me if we could also have a soup day at home. This children's book came with a soup recipe at the end, so I told DD that we will definitely give it a try. We like this book because it encourages parents to spend quality time with their kids and it also teaches the importance of cooking and eating a healthy meal together.

My Brest Friend Review & Prize Pack Giveaway -- ENDED

I always knew that I wanted to breastfeed my babies. Right after I gave birth to DD in the hospital, the nurses found out that I was going to breasting feeding and they told me that I must pick up a feeding pillow from My Brest Friend. I must admit that I was skeptical at first. Why couldn't I just use a $10 standard size pillow over my lap and why would I spend that much money on a breastfeeding pillow? Well, I ended up buying one and I was sold after only using it a couple of times. After DD was born, I was working from home and I had to be on the computer most of the day. Prince Lionheart VERSA Formula Mixer Review & Giveaway -- ENDED

Prince Lionheart has a brand new product that will be hitting the stores in the next few weeks. I was lucky enough to have gotten one before it hits the shelves to try it out. The VERSA formula mixer is a great tool that serves dual-purposes. While it is great for mixing formulas so that you don't get any lumps in the baby bottles, you can also use it for powdered drinks. As you can see from the photo, the mixer does come with 2 tips -- one for each purpose. Since the new baby is not here yet, I decided to try it out making a powered drink. I love getting Chai Latte from different coffee shops. However, being so close to the end of my pregnancy, I am often too exhausted to make it to the shops to buy my favorite drink. Furthermore, with a new baby on the way, we want to save as much money as we can because having a new addition to our family is going to add to our expenses for sure. In any case, a few months ago, I started buying Spicy Chai Latte powder from the store to make my own drinks at home. I just heat up my milk in the microwave for a couple of minutes and add the powder to it. What I noticed is that if I don't spend at least 3 to 4 minutes stirring my drink, I would get huge lumps of the powder in my drink. Sometimes even after mixing it with a spoon for so long, I still got small lumps of the powder in my milk. It was pretty frustrating. As such, I was eager to give this tool a try.

I honestly could not believe how well it worked! Seriously, in 10 seconds, I was able to mix & make my Chai Latte. The VERSA Formula Mixer works so well that it even created some nice foam on the top-- just like when I bought my favorite drink from coffee shops.

I noticed that for such a small tool, the VERSA Formula Mixer is actually pretty powerful. You just need to use it for 10 to 20 seconds to mix powder to the drink. When you use the mixer, make sure the tip is at the bottom of the cup or bottle, otherwise you are going to make a big mess with the drink spilling out. Cleaning is a breeze too. I just clean the tips with soapy water. This tool is a great addition to my kitchen, but I can also see how it would be useful for a mom to carry it in her diaper bag because it works well and it is very compact.

From the day that DD was born until she was a couple of years old, I did not wear any jewelry. When she was an infant, although DD was fascinated by my necklaces, I just did not feel safe wearing them around her. We read the book to DD, and we were surprised by some of the words used in the book. While most of the words are commonly used in our day to day life, there are a few that are not. We were concerned that she would might have a hard time understanding the story. I mean, it is not everyday that you use the words "despondent" or "haberdashery." However, the story is written is such a way that all of the words flow together and DD understood the meaning of the words right away. She thought that the book was interesting and we loved that it helped introduced new vocabularies to her that's not overwhelming. We wish that more books were written this way.

After weeks of rain this winter, we are happy to see the sun again. The weather has been in the mid 70 degrees and it finally feels like Southern California once more. Last summer, we spent a lot of time in the pool and going to the beach club with our friends. This year, since we have a pool at our new house, we will get to enjoy our pool. DD already wore her suit to her swimming lessons these past couple of weeks (even though the lessons take place in an indoor pool, she still insisted on wearing her suit). She really like her suit and I am glad because now I know she will happily wear it when she uses our outdoor pool.
