Rockboard Scooter Review & -Rafflecopter- Giveaway -- ENDED

DD has always been envious of other kids who learned how to ride a scooter easily and quickly. We have gone through 2 scooters now. DD had been learning how to ride them properly, but sadly because my little girl is not very coordinated, she had a difficult time riding one.  When we received the Rockboard Scooter to review, we thought that it was going to be like the other scooters we owned in the past. Luckily for us, that was so not the case.

We opened the box and the scooter was ready for DD to try. There was no assembly needed -- which was a huge plus for me because I am not very good at reading instructions and putting things together, lol. Although the scooter is for older kids, because DD is so tall for her age she is able to ride it just fine (she has the height of an 8 year old). I was surprised by how quickly DD got a hang of riding the scooter. I honestly thought she would have a harder time balancing herself, but after only a couple of trips to the local park, she was riding like a pro.
The Rockboard Scooter is  two scooters in one. Its advanced Rockboard technology allows DD to use it in rockboarding mode or  a low-profile kick scooter mode too. The rear spring-enhanced suspension provides DD a smooth ride even on rough pavement. One of my favorite features is that the handlebars could be folded for compact storage. If you have been reading my blog, you know that I am the mom with 3 strollers in the back of my minivan at any given time, so needless to say, I don't have much storage space for other items. Because the scooter could be folded down into a compact size, I am able to toss it in the back of my minivan and take it with us when we visit the local parks.
Although DD is tall enough to use the scooter, she has a hard time folding and unfolding the scooter. If you have an older child, this would not be a problem at all. But if you have an extremely tall child who is not yet 8 years old (the recommended age for this scooter), then you will need to assist your child when he/she is using it. Also, this scooter handles up to 200 lbs. My husband wanted to try this too, but I did not let him because the last thing we needed was for a grown man to break it when my daughter is so in love with her new scooter. I am sure the weight limit is mentioned on the website for a good reason, lol.

The scooter itself is very well constructed. While $200 might appear pricey for a scooter, but the quality is definitely there to justifies the asking price.  To pick one up for your kid, please visit Target.com to make your purchase.

Many thanks to Rockboard Scooter . The company has generously offered 1 scooter as a giveaway prize to one of my lucky readers. This giveaway ends on Oct 14th, 2011.
