mumi & bubi Solids Starter Kit Review & -Rafflecopter- Giveaway

My little man just started eating solids not too long ago. We have tried a number of organic baby food products. Baby G enjoys eating them, but they are really pricey. Baby G needs to eat at least 2 pouches a day and that's almost $4 per day just on baby food along. Instead of buying baby food, I have been making my own using the organic produce I purchase from the local farmers market and stores.

Mumi & bubi sent me a set of 2 freezing trays with lids to use with the baby food I have been making. The trays can easily stack on top of one another. The snug fit lids ensure that there isn't any spills or freezer burns.
One of baby G's favorite meal is berries. I first steam blueberries , strawberries and bananas, and then I blend them to make this yummy treat that even DD loves. Although it makes an healthy, excellent baby food, I have also used the same mixture for homemade popsicles.
What I love about these trays is that it is so easy to pop the cubes of baby food out. After making the baby food, I just put it in the freezer for a few hours, then I would pop them out and put them into little baggies so that the baby food will take up less space in the freezer. I notice that with some mixtures of baby food, it is slighter hard to pop out the cubes. When that occurs, I just put it under hot running water for about a minute and then the baby food cubes will pop right now. Each tray holds 21 cubes of baby food (about 1 oz per cube), baby G eats 4 cubes of baby food for each meal.

All in all, I think that the mumi & bubi Solids Starter Kit  works really well. I use it regularly and I am happy with it. I know some moms might think that using a regular ice cube tray is the same, let me assure you that it is not the same (because I have tried before). After trying to freeze baby food with a regular ice cube tray, I discovered that it is very hard to remove that frozen baby food. Plus, mumi & bubi Solids Starter Kit are made in New Zealand from non-toxic, virgin polypropylene – PP5 – and are top-shelf dishwasher-safe. The material of the trays are certified free of phthalates, BPA, and PVC.

To purchase a Solids Starter Kit, please visit the Mumi &  bubi website.

Many thanks to Mumi & bubi.  The company has generously offered 1 set of Solids Starter Kit  as a giveaway prize to one of my lucky reader. This giveaway ends on Sep 26th, 2011.
