Barefoot Books Review & -Rafflecopter- Giveaway -- ENDED

To help DD get ready for a brand new school year, Barefoot Books sent her a couple of books to review.  She was the lucky recipient of Ruby' School Walk and Octopus Opposites.

Being a book lover, DD was excited to receive to books. The very day these books arrived at our home, DD asked her daddy to read them to her before bed time. So, we all sat down on the DD's bedroom floor and read the books together.

We thought that Ruby's Walk to School was wonderful. The basic story line is about Ruby walking to school with her mother. The story follows Ruby's walk to school and shows how she imagines things (like imaging a cat as a tiger). In their short walk to school, Ruby takes her mother on a fun mini adventure through her imagination. Once Ruby arrives at school, her mother commented that school is a place that allows Ruby's imagination to grow. I love this book and I am seriously thinking about buying another copy to give it as gift to DD's teacher on the first day of class. I think it is great that the book celebrates children's' imagination and shows that a school is the place where kids can continue to develop and thrive without fearing that their imagination will be limited or restricted by an institution.

The second book DD received to review was  Octopus Opposites. The books shows opposites like push and pull, fat and thin, small and big. We thought that the book was an easy but fun ready. It has whimsical illustrations that's sure to delight any young child. We also thought this book would be most appropriate for a 3 or 4 year old. The opposites were ones DD already knew so she did not learn anything new from the book, but she still enjoyed reading it.

To buy the books we received to review or to pick up other children's books for your kids, please visit the Barefoot Books website.

Many thanks to Barefoot Books. The company has generously offered 1 book as a giveaway prize to one of my lucky readers (US and Canada residents only please, you must be at least 18 years old to enter this giveaway. Winner's choice of prize.
