Artisana Organic Nut & Seed Butters Review & -RaffleCopter- Giveaway -- ENDED

We use a lot of peanut butter in our home. From peanut butter jelly sandwich to peanut butter cookies and meals made with peanut butter, we go through peanut butter very quickly. Lately, I have been thinking about maybe trying other spreads made with other nuts, so I was really excited when Artisana sent me a package of their products to try.

I received a jar of their coconut butter. Although I am sure I can use the coconut butter for a lot of different recipes, I am only use it to make smoothies for now. To be honest, it tastes so good when I use it to make smoothies, I am sort of not wanting to use it for anything else, lol. I would combine whatever fruit we have in the house with some plain yogurt,  milk, a little bit of ice and a couple of tablespoons of the coconut butter. Sorry, I don't have an exact recipe, but I basically uses 2 tablespoons full of coconut butter for 3 large cups of smoothies. The smoothies would have a nice hint of coconut but it does not over power the taste of other fruits I use. DD loves these smoothies so much that she asks me to make it for her every day.
The other product I received to review was the macadamia butter.  We have been using this on our toast and it tastes amazingly. My husband said that this was possibility the best butter toast he has ever had, lol.
In addition to the 2 jars of products we received to review, the company also sent us their on-the-go squeeze packs to try out. These packs are wonderful  for school and work lunches. We have also used them for meals on the go when we go to Disneyland or go to the parks for playdates. One of the products I also really like was their coconut oil. I used it to make Chinese fried rice instead cooking the dish with olive oil like I normally do, and the dish came out even better than it usually tastes. There was a very light hint of coconut, even my husband who is not a huge fan of coconut commented on how good it tasted. Also, while I was cooking, the smell of coconut filled up the entire kitchen, I loved that about using the coconut oil.

To buy the products we received to review, please visit the Artisana website to locate retailers near you.

Many thanks to Artisana. The company has generously offered 1-8oz jar of Coconut Butter and 1 each flavor of their on-the-go squeeze packs as giveaway prizes to one of my lucky readers (US residents only please. You must be at least 18 years old to enter this giveaway). This giveaway ends on Sep 16th, 2011.
