It is my pleasure to introduce another great stroller to my readers. I recently received a Zooper Waltz stroller to review and I have been running around town with it for about a month now. I have gone to the parks, Disneyland, supermarkets, stores, shopping malls and even to the movies with this stroller, so I really gave it a good run before writing this review.
To begin, let me tell you about some of the basic features of Waltz stroller. This stroller comes in 8 different colors/prints. I got the Jungle Earth print to review. It is pretty gender neutral, but either way I knew that baby G would not care. It is more important that he is able to hang out in the stroller comfortably.
The stroller comes with a removable headrest for your baby. It is like a flat pillow for your newborn. Baby G's head fits into the cushion pretty nicely.
The stroller also comes with a 5 point harness, which is a must. I highly recommend that you buckle your baby in. I forgot to buckle baby G in once and I noticed that he started to slide down. Luckily I caught it in time before he fell out the stroller, so don't make the same mistake I did.
It comes with an adjustable foot rest. Because baby G is relatively short (he is still a baby afterall), his feet do not reach the foot rest at all, but I imagine that this will be really useful when he is a toddler.
I love that the stroller comes with a safety bar that could be replaced with the a food tray later. I am using the safety bar with baby G right now since he is not eating or snacking in his stroller yet. But I did try to remove the safety bar and I discovered that it was super easy. I just needed to push a couple of buttons to release the bar and then click the snack/food tray in place. The stroller comes with the safety bar in place and the snack tray is included in the box so there is no additional accessories for you to purchase.
For you mommies out there, I know many of you are concerned with the weight of the stroller as well as the ease of pushing it. The stroller itself is 18 lbs and I am able to push it very easily. Considering that it is a full size stroller, I think that this is actually easier to push and lift into the back of my minivan than other full size strollers.
One of my favorite features is its ability to stand upright. This is great when we take the kids to restaurants. Instead of being forced to leave my stroller outside the restaurant or park it somewhere where I am not able to keep an eye on it (risking it getting stolen), I am able to fold it up and just leave it standing upright next to me. Once in awhile, the front wheels might not be in their proper places when you fold up the stroller which would cause it fall forward when you attempt to stand it upright. When that happens, I just open the stroller and fold it up again to adjust the wheels back to their proper spots.
My favorite feature on this stroller is its all purpose canopy. I have reviewed, tried and purchased many strollers (more than the average mom for sure), this is the best canopy I have ever seen! To give you an idea, I took a picture of the stroller with its canopy all the way down. Remember the days when you have to cover the stroller with a blanket to block out the sun from your child's eyes, those days are long gone. In the photo, baby G was actually laying down in the stroller, so having the canopy not only blocked out the sun, it also gave him some privacy during nap time. If your child is awake, you can fold over the piece of fabric in the center of the canopy to expose the UV net, so your child will be able to look out the stroller but still has protection from the sun.
The stroller also comes with a cup holder which I use for my drink. It also comes with a storage basket underneath. Do not let appearance deceive you. I know that the storage area does not look big, but it is actually a good size storage basket. When I took the kids to the movies, I was able to store 2 child size blankets, 2 large water bottles, a large container of pop corn and a handful of other snacks for the kids. You can also see from the photo that I have my very large diaper bag hanging off the stroller. While the Waltz stroller is lighter than other full size strollers, it does not tip over even when I have hung a heavy diaper bag on it.
Baby G looking very happy in his stroller. Even his sister loves this stroller (she has asked to be in it many times, but I had to tell her that she is finally too big to be in a stroller).
The stroller is very easy to fold up and to open too. While it does take up a bit more room in the back of my minivan, it certainly does not take up as much other full size stroller does. If I have to describe it, I would say that it is a happy medium between a full size and a compact stroller. I love this stroller, it is by far one of my favorite strollers. The only minor thing I do not care for is that the stroller comes with plastic wheels. I prefer rubber wheels because I found that they are more durable and handles better on grass and sand. Another thing that's a minor negative is that although the stroller is very comfortable for me to push and it is very light weight, because my husband is so tall (6'5"), he has a hard time with the handle bar -- it is too low for him to push comfortably. If we are out as a family and I know that DH is going to push the stroller, we would use another that's more comfortable for him instead. All in all, except for the fact that I wish it came with rubber wheels and that it came with adjustable handle bar, I thought it was a fantastic stroller.
