Give Dad a Delicious Dozen This Father's Day: Georgetown Cupcake

You haven't had a real cupcake until you have Georgetown Cupcake! I am a fan of cupcakes, I know, I know, it is not a surprised to anyone. Just look at my banner and you could already guess that I love cupcakes. I make a lot of cupcakes for kids at playdates, birthdays and parties. I also like to try cupcakes at local bakeries. Although there are a couple bakeries that make decent cupcakes, they are never something I would crave for. Then I got some Georgetown Cupcake to review. Boy! They are out of this world delicious! I have to say that these cupcakes totally put my homemade cupcakes to shame. After trying Georgetown Cupcake, I can never look at cupcakes the same way again.

Georgetown Cupcake was founded by sisters Katherine Kallinis and Sophie LaMontagne. Katherine and Sophie traded careers in fashion and private equity to pursue something a little sweeter — their passion for artful cupcakes. Both lifelong bakers, inspired by their grandmothers, Katherine and Sophie opened Georgetown Cupcake in February 2008 as DC’s first and only cupcakery.

I received 1 dozen cupcakes to review and I wanted to show you how well packaged these cupcakes were. The cupcakes are made by hand in small batches. Then they were frozen for overnight delivery to my house.
When I opened the box, there is a note explaining how to handle and care for my yummy cupcakes. The cupcakes were wrapped in an insulated bag.
There was ice on the inside to make sure my cupcakes stay fresh.
Each cupcake has a stick in it to make sure that the cupcakes don't get smashed during the overnight shipping.
These were the cupcakes I received to review for Father's Day! 3 peanut butter fudge, 3 red velvet topped with blue fondant medallions spelling "DAD", 3 chocolate hazelnut, and 3 vanilla with buttercream frosting topped with blue fondant medallions spelling "DAD."
Although all of the cupcakes were delicious, I thought that the red velvet was heavenly. I also loved the chocolate hazelnut because I could tell that high quality cocoa was used. The icing was also out of this world yummy!

Overall, I was really impressed by how well the cupcakes were packed and how tasty these cupcakes were. I am completely sold on Georgetown Cupcake. I have told all of my friends and family members that these cupcakes are the best cupcakes I have ever had and that they need to pick some up too.

If you live in the DC area, you can pick up their cupcakes at their store: 3301 M Street NW (corner of 33rd & M) Washington, DC 20007. If you don't, you can still try their yummy cupcakes by ordering them online. They will overnight these cupcakes to you at $50 per dozen. I think they are worth the price! Be sure to pick some up for your Dad for this Father's Day!
