SPI Baby Design, Alison Palevsky and Sarah Shetter’s LA-based interior design and custom furniture collaboration, announces the launch of SPI Baby, a children’s furniture and home accessories collection. Designed to transition from nursery to teen’s room, the collection offers practicality infused with modern style, luxury, and impeccable quality.
SPI Baby launches with three signature collections, the Jack, the Pinwheel and the Color Swirl, boasting vibrant graphics that are inspired by the joys of childhood. Each collection is designed in a bright and energetic color palette. No longer locked into the pastel hues of the traditional nursery, the pieces are free to harmonize with the adult space in the rest of the house. The three motifs can be mixed and matched to reflect individual style and personality.
Equal parts flair and function, SPI Baby has amplified the roles each piece can play in order to eliminate clutter and redundancy. Strategic design and details unique to the brand include the Happy Changing Table, a tri-functional changing station, hamper and storage bin; a glider that rocks and swivels 360 degrees for comfort and efficiency; eye-catching two-dimensional tufting on area rugs; and spill-proof vinyl-laminated fabrics. The line also includes signature lighting and interchangeable cabinet hardware.
A natural expansion for SPI Design, which creates custom furniture for interior design clients, SPI Baby aims to fill the void for style-driven, durable, and timeless children’s furnishings. “We’ve worked with many of our interior design clients on nurseries and children’s rooms— including Alison’s own nursery—and finding well-designed furniture that will endure the years in both style and substance has always been a challenge,” says Sarah Shetter. In addition to designing pieces that redefine a modern aesthetic with functional elements, Shetter and Palevsky work closely with local Los Angeles manufacturers. By overseeing the entire production and quality control process, they ensure their collections maintain longevity in every aspect.
“When designing a child’s room, parents should be thinking not only about the first few months of their child's life but all the years to come as well,” says Alison Palevsky. “We’ve created the SPI Baby collection so that parents and children can feel at home with the furnishings at every stage of life.”
Priced for the luxury market, items range from $15 for the cabinetry hardware series to $1820 for the Beckett Dresser. The SPI Baby collection can be purchased at www.spibaby.com beginning in mid-March.
