Combi Tatami Play Yard Review & Giveaway -- ENDED

I am sure that most of you are familiar with the Combi brand. Several of my friends own combi strollers and car seats and so I have heard great things about their products before I tried them myself. A few months ago, I was given the chance to review a Combi double stroller as well as a car seat and I really enjoyed trying those fantastic products out. I was recently contacted by Combi to do another review and giveaway; honestly, I could not be more thrilled. I have seen the Combi Tatami Play Yard on the Combi website and I was really curious on how well it works.

As soon as my new Combi Tatami Play Yard arrived, I took it out of the box to try it out. Now, I actually have a pack and play (that was purchased by my in laws when I gave birth to DD), we used it once and stored it aways in the garage. I found the pack and play to be difficult to put together and it was really bulky too. The Combi Tatami Play Yard, on the other hand, has all of the features I love.

First of all, it is not as bulky as a pack and play style play yard so it is much easier to transport. It also helps that it comes with a handle so I can wheel it around very easily. This is an important feature to me because while it is nice to set up a play yard in the living room for a baby to play and nap, I could really use a play yard that I could transport in my car for trips to grandparents' house or visits to relatives homes. I love that when not in used, it could be folded down to a compact size so it does not take up too much space either.

Setting up the Tatami Play Yard is super easy. It literally takes me less than a minutes to get it all set up. It also takes only a few minutes to break it all down again. I remember really struggling with the pack and play style play yard DD had. I ended up asking my husband to set it up and break it down for me. I could not imagine having to do that every single time we need to transport it for trips (that's part of the reason why we just did not bother using it at all).

I love that the Tatami Play Yard comes with a nice padding for that extra cushion for your baby. It comes in this pretty gender neutral color that's great for a baby girl or a baby boy.

All in all, we really love the Combi Tatami Play Yard. I am really looking forward to using it with new baby and using it for trips we will be taking next year.

I love vinyl lettering for our home. It is so easy to put on walls and remove them when you are done. They look great and they are also very reasonably priced. With a baby on the way, we are already thinking about what we want to do with the nursery. DD's Preschool Photo Day

Yesterday was photo day at DD's preschool. I just picked a random outfit for her and I also did not have much time to fix her hair since we were running late in the morning. Anyhow, I took a couple of photos of her before sending her into her class. I sure hope that her school photo turns out ok.

DD loves Sam's remote. She plays with it regularly and has a blast with it. The webshow and the bear are a bit too complex for someone her age, so I ended up passing them to my friend's daughters (who are 9 and 10). My friend told me that her girls enjoy the toys a great deal -- especially when the girls have sleep over parties.

When I was contacted by Bronzed Envy to review their product, I must admit that I was taken back a bit. Being Asian, I actually tan very easily. I actually don't want to be as tan as I am now. On October 5th, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is releasing Disney’s animated masterpiece, Beauty and the Beast. We were lucky enough to have received a copy of it for review purposes before it's release date.

Disney’s most requested film, Beauty and the Beast, arrives for the first time on Blu-ray Hi-Def as the second installment to the company’s new Diamond Collection. The Blu-ray transformation reveals the magic, music and majesty of the film as never before experienced with state-of-the-art picture restoration, pristine 7.1 Digital Surround Sound and hours of additional viewing experiences that include behind the scenes features, deleted scenes, enhanced music tracks, immersive games and more.

Film Synopsis:
Set in and around a quaint French village during the late 18th century, Beauty and the Beast follows the fantastic adventures of Belle, a bright and beautiful young woman who finds escape from her ordinary life, and the advances of a boorish suitor, Gaston, by reading books. Meanwhile, off in a castle in the distance, a cruel young prince is cast under the spell of an enchantress who turns him into a tormented beast, while transforming his servants into animated household objects. In order to remove the curse, the Beast must discover a true love who will return his affection before the last petal falls from an enchanted rose. When Belle’s inventor father stumbles upon the Beast’s castle and is taken prisoner, Belle comes to the rescue and agrees to take her father’s place. Our Review:
I remember watching Beauty and the Beast when I was a teenager. I LOVE this movie and I was even more excited than DD when the DVD arrived at our house. As soon as it arrived, I opened the box and sat down with DD to watch the entire movie. DD, being a Disney fan, is very familiar with all of the Disney characters so she could not wait to watch the movie with me. We had a very nice afternoon laying in bed and watching the DVD together. I know that many of you probably already seen the movie, but it is great to actually own a copy of it. The music/songs are amazingly and I have always thought that the story line is nice too. It's definitely one of those movies that I will not mind watching with DD over and over again. We watched the extended edition today, so tomorrow we will be watching the theater release version. This is a great DVD, truly a must have for any little princess (and her mommy too).

Jazwares Mix Pups Review

Have you seen these cute toys called Mix Pups? I received a box of it to host a party and we did just that after DD's gymnastics class today. DD loves these cute little puppies because you can remove the different parts of the puppies and switch them around to create your own personalized puppy.

Before the party started, the kids ran around and had fun in the backyard while we waited for the pizzas we ordered to arrive.

After a yummy lunch, the kids got to open their own toys. Cammie and Josh checking out their Mix Pups.

I thought it was really cute that the boys love Mix Pups as much as the girls did.

The Mix Pups were a huge hit with the kids. I was able to take photos of most of the kids at the party, although I failed to get photos of Isabella and Juliana -- I did not realized that until I was sorting through the photos, opps. The toy are best for kids age 4+ because of the small parts. I knew that they would be a big hit with the girls, but I had no idea that the boys would love them as well. It was great to watch all of the kids playing with the Mix Pups so nicely and quietly together. The moms all agree that these toys are awesome!

A Walk Down Halloween Memory Lane

Where did all the time go? I can't believe that Halloween is just around the corner. Are you thinking about what you are getting for your kids or have your kids told you what they wanted to be for Halloween yet? My friend Nancy told me that her 5 year old daughter has already picked up her outfit (she is going to be a witch). I guess I am lucky in that DD just does not care what she dresses up as. For her, it's all about the candy. As long as she gets to go from house to house and ask for candy, that's all that matters, lol.

So I have been thinking about what to get for DD this Halloween (especially since she does not care). In the past, it was easy. I just make a stop at Baby Style and I always find something I like there. Since Baby Style has gone out of business, I am completely uncertain of what I should pick up for DD this year. You know, it just seems to me that the Halloween costumes for the older kids just aren't as cute as the ones they make for infants and toddlers.

I gathered up some pictures of DD from the previous years. It was so fun to look at the old photos.

Year 2006:
DD's first Halloween. I went a little overboard and I brought 2 costumes for her. She was a cow.
And an octopus.
Year 2007:

She was a cute peacock. She was so popular in her outfit that we constantly got stopped by strangers to tell us how adorable she looked when we went to California Adventure to do our trick treating.

Even the back of the costume was cute.

Year 2008:

DD was a peacock again. The costume was a bit different because it covered her entire body. Dennis (Nancy's husband) and my husband took the kids trick treating. I was told by DH that everyone loved DD's outfit.

Year 2009:

DD dressed up as a Disney Princess and she also wore 2008 peacock costume again ( she could barely fit in it, but she managed wearing it on Halloween night).

I am not sure what DD will be this year yet. What are you getting for your kid/kids?
