Disney Tangled Movie Review

This morning, we got to see Disney's new film Tangled before it is released to the general public. We invited my friend Julie and her little girl Avery to attend the event with us to check out this fun film.

Walt Disney Pictures presents “Tangled,” one of the most hilarious, hair-raising tales ever told. When the kingdom’s most wanted—and most charming—bandit Flynn Rider (voice of Zachary Levi) hides out in a mysterious tower, he’s taken hostage by Rapunzel (voice of Mandy Moore), a beautiful and feisty tower-bound teen with 70 feet of magical, golden hair. Flynn’s curious captor, who’s looking for her ticket out of the tower where she’s been locked away for years, strikes a deal with the handsome thief and the unlikely duo sets off on an action-packed escapade, complete with a super-cop horse, an over-protective chameleon and a gruff gang of pub thugs. In theaters this holiday season in Disney Digital 3D™, “Tangled” is a story of adventure, heart, humor and hair—lots of hair.
Here's DD and her friend Avery waiting for the movie to start.
We got to see the movie in 3D.

The girls had a lot of fun watching the film. There were a lot of kids at the special showing we attended, and I noticed that some younger kids/boys were getting restless at the end. From my observation and talking to other parents at the event, it seems that the movie is more appropriate for kids who are at least 4 years old. There was a little 3 year old girl who sat by us, she was asking questions through out the entire film because she did not understand what was happening in the movie. DD and Avery were old enough to understand the basic story line. The movie pretty much kept their attention through out. The girls especially like the horse (Max) and they thought the horse was really funny. The ending was heart warming (a true fairy tale ending), the princess got to reunit with her parents and be at the man she fell in love with. DD cried hysterically when Flynn died -- I mean, full on sobbing on top of her lungs in the theater. Luckily, the scene did not last long and Flynn was alright in the end. So, if you have a extra sensitive child, be prepared for that. All in all, we all thought it was a fun movie to see for the whole family. Tangled will be released on November 24, 2010. Please check theaters near you for show time.
