If you could design a stroller with all of the features you love about all of the strollers you have ever owned, what will it be like? I think my friend Nancy pretty much said it when she saw my new Britax stroller and commented that it is exactly the kind of stroller she would have designed. She is a mother of three so you can imagine that she has gone through her share of strollers. Myself, well, even though I am not yet a mother of three, I definitely owned my share of strollers -- more strollers than Nancy if I might add ;). I belong to several mommy's groups, so I certainly know a few things about strollers from the things I have learned from my mommy friends too. I agree with my friend Nancy that, if I was to pull together everything I love about all of the strollers and put all of the features together to make one stroller, the Britax B-Ready stroller would be it.
I have owned other strollers where I get random moms coming up to me complimenting on how nice the stroller is. However, I must admit that the Britax B-Ready stroller is the only stroller I own that I have women as well as men stopping me to ask me questions about it or complimenting it as I walk by. As you know, we do a lot of activities out. From trips to amusement parks to the water playdates at the beach club, we get a lot of use out of our strollers. Literally everywhere I went, people wanted to check out my awesome new stroller. I, of course, was more than happy to tell them about it and told them to check it out on the Britax website. DD, by the same token, was equally proud of her new stroller. But she did not like strangers touching it and she told people that they need to get their own strollers at the stroller store, lol.
I think that the first thing most thing people notice is how stylish and chic the stroller is. It looks very modern and sleek-- I think that's why it gets a lot of attention from dads too. Another feature people really love and constantly comment on is how large the storage basket is. Now, you will lose the awesome storage space if you convert this into a double stroller (more about this later), but if you are using the B-Ready stroller as a single stroller, you will LOVE the storage space this stroller offers. This stroller actually has more storage space than the full size strollers I owned in the past. The opening in the back is so large that it is not at all a battle to pull anything out or put anything in regardless of the position of the seat (in either a sitting position or fully recline position). I took DD to the beach club with my friend and her kids. I literally stored a smaller cooler of our lunch and drinks, a beach bag full of towels and change of clothes, my purse as well as DD's sand toys in the storage compartment. I kid you not!
If you are in the market for a single stroller, this is a the stroller to invest in. The stroller can hold a child up to 55 lbs. It is great for an infant and still comfortable for a preschooler like DD. Here's a photo of DD in the B-Ready stroller. DD is now 45" tall and she still fits in the stroller very comfortably. One of the features both she and I love about the stroller is the shade. It is huge! In this photo, she is leaning out of the stroller to peek out. But when she leans all the way back, I actually can't see her face unless I kneel down in front of the stroller to speak to her. She loves to hide under the shade and I love that it is so large that it truly provides the privacy as well as the coverage that I always wanted from a stroller.
Now, if the sleek design, the storage basket and the shade can not convince you to buy this stroller. I know that this will! What is this? Well, Britax B-Ready allows over 14 configurations. You do need to buy the additional parts for them, but the idea of being able to convert a single stroller to a double stroller just amazes me. So far, we have used the stroller as a single stroller with the seat facing out for DD (no additional accessories needed). The stroller handles very well with my preschooler inside of it. I also received a second seat from Britax so that I was able to add a second seat to where the storage basket is. The installation (as well as putting the stroller together) was really easy. I actually did it myself while my husband was at work and it did not take me long at all to read the instructional manual and put everything together myself. The only thing I want to mention, though, is that even though the stroller handles well and it is actually a pretty smooth ride for the kids when I push it, having 2 kids in it does make the stroller a bit heavier. However, I do own other compacted double strollers. I noticed that with the smaller wheels on them, they were harder to push in comparison to the B-Ready stroller. Because the wheels on the B-Ready are fairly large, I don't have to work as hard pushing the stroller around.
Because I am pregnant and expecting a baby, having this new stroller is making me even more excited about the baby's arrival. I also own the Britax infant car seat so I am excited to be able to use it with my B-Ready stroller and try out all of the different combinations with it. By the way, if you have the infant car seat already, you don't need any extra accessories. The stroller comes with the car seat adaptor.
In addition to the wonderful features I already mentioned about the stroller, there are a couple more things I like to mention. I love, love the break system on this stroller. The B-Ready stroller features the One-step, linked parking brake with indicator. Seriously awesome feature! I never have to worry about if a break is on or off and making sure that my stroller does not roll away from me on a slop. With the brake system on B-Ready, there is a indicator making it very easy for me to visually see if the brake is locked.
The adjustable handle height with comfort grip is another fantastic feature that we love. For me, I would adjust it down because I am only 5'4". But because my husband is 6'5", he is not comfortable pushing strollers with low handle bars. The B-Ready stroller handle bar can be adjusted up, making it comfortable for my husband to push as well. I love it because now he does his share of pushing the stroller around.
Last but not least, the stroller comes with adult cup-holder as well as a removable storage bag with insulated drink holders. Basically, I have 3 compartments to hold my drinks. This is great because sometimes I have a coffee and a water bottle or we need to find spaces for my husband's drink too, now we don't have to worry about where to put our drinks.
Having tried this stroller, I must say that there is not a single thing I don't love about it. If you ask me if there is something else I would add to the stroller, I could not tell you what other features I would add to it either. The stroller basically has everything I look for and features I truly love. If you are in the market for a stroller, I highly recommend it. My family has been using Britax products for a couple of years now and we will continue to be loyal customers.
