BuySoapNuts.com Review & Giveaway (ENDED)

Winning comment is #74!
Do you love soap nuts as much as I do and you want to buy in bulk? If you have been using soap nuts and realize that it does not make sense to buy small quantities of it all of the time, you have got to check out BuySoapNuts.com. The company sent me 500g bag of certified organic soap nuts and I just love Greener Living Soap Nuts by BuySoapNuts.com. A 500g bag can do between 150 to 200 loads of laundry. A bag like this will last us about 6 months. When we run out, we do plan on going back to BuySoapNuts.com to buy the 1 kg bag which will allow us to do 300 to 400 loads of laundry. Because we only use cold water, so I am pretty certain that we will be able to get 400 loads out of it, which means 1 bag will last us for an entire year.

In case you are wondering (because I wondered about it too), after doing some research, I learned that soap nuts do not expire. People keep them on their shelves for years. So, if you use soap nuts regularly, don't be afraid of buying them in large quantities. Also, the company offers free shipping if you spend $50 or more. So, I suggest buying a year worth of soap nuts and just be done with it :). You might as well take advantage of the free shipping. In addition to the soap nuts, I also received a coconut coir fiber scrub pad to review. I have been using the traditional scrub pads and so I was excited to try an eco friendly alternative form of it. After trying it, I thought that the scrub pad worked really well. I will mostly likely be picking up more of them from BuySoapNuts.com in the future. While that it is more expensive than the tradition scrub pads you buy in the stores, I like that it is eco friendly and when I hand washed my dishes it worked like a charm.

To buy your own soap nuts and scrub, please go to BuySoapNuts.com to make your purchase.

Many thanks to Erin of BuySoapNuts.com. She has generously offered one 500g bag of soap nuts as well as a scrub pad as giveaway prizes to one of my lucky readers (US residents only please).

following your blog as klp1965

People suffering from serious skin ailments such as the two mentioned above are always told to not use cleansers of any form but, ironically, they are almost unavoidable due to the fact that cleansers are necessary for basic cleanliness and hygiene in our daily lives. These people are also told not to use any kind of detergents or soaps. This is because the soaps and detergents have harmful chemicals and dye which aggravates it and worsens the condition. Soap nuts are the most natural chemical free detergent available on the market. For this reason, Ayurvedic treatment includes soap nuts as a key ingredient for shampoos and cleanser which are used for cleaning purpose when an individual suffers from skin allergies like eczema and psoriasis.

I learned that I can make liquid detergent with the soap nuts. "Boil 12-15 whole Soap Nuts in 6 cups (1.5 quart) of water for 30 minutes. The liquid you have is now a concentrated, chemical free detergent. The leftover shells can be placed in your compost. Use 3 Tbsp or 45 ml of this detergent with each load of laundry. This allows you to do approximately 30 loads of laundry."
