If you are breast feeding your child, you know the importance of having a great breast pump. When I had DD, I was a working mother for a few months (before we made the decision for me to stay home full time). While I was working, I needed to make sure I had enough breast milk stored up for when I was away at work. Even when I became a full time stay at home mom, I needed a nice breast pump to make sure that I can leave the house for a few hours to run errands or what not while the baby was home with DH. I have tried manual pumps and decided that it was a horrible idea. Not only that they did not work well, my hands were exhausted by the time I was done pumping. I was talking to my friend about manual pumps and she said when she had them it would literally take her an hour to pump. Now, if you have more than 1 child, forget about manual pumping! Ever had to manual pump for your infant and have your other overactive child demanding your assistance for everything (using the toilet, wanting a snack, helping with a toy)? Does not sound fun, does it?!If you are a busy mom on the go, you have got to check out Medela Freestyle! I seriously never thought I would ever own something so awesome! Freestyle is Medela's first hands free, double electric pump. First of all, if you think all pumps are created equal, I can assured you that they are not. As I have mentioned before, I have tried other pumps before and I was not satisfied with their performance. I still remember that when I gave birth in the hospital, a few nurses told me that if I plan on breast feeding, I should try to pick up a Medela. Some of them mention that although Medela pumps might cost a bit more money, but they are well worth the sticker price. Well, I can truly say that love Medela breast pumps!
So, what's so awesome about Medela Freestyle breast pump? There are so many reasons why I love the Freestyle pump that I don't even know where to start, lol.
* Lightweight: The pump weights less than 1 lb so it is very light and easy to clip it onto yourself.
* Memory button: The pump comes with a memory button that allow you to record a pumping pattern best suited for your need.
* Let down button: I love the let down button because it allows your milk to flow more comfortably-- not sure if this makes sense, but for your breast feeding mommies I am sure you know what I am talking about ;).
* Rechargeable battery: The rechargeable battery is good for 3 hours! Ok, I have owned other electric breast pumps before but I was permanently attached to an outlet because the pump needs to be plugged in when I was pumping. The fact that the battery can last up to 3 hours and gives you the freedom of not being stuck next to an outlet is so awesome.
* Hands free accessories: The hands free accessories provides you the true freedom a mother wants! The bra attachments will work with most nursing bras, so you will no longer need to hold the bottles in your hands (seriously, how awesome is that?!). With the hands free accessories, you will be able to do all of the things you would still like to do while pumping. You can blog, wash the dishes, fold the laundry or help your other children with whatever they need.
Even if you only have 1 child, I think the Medela Freestyle is a great investment because it allows you the freedom to carry on with your normal activities. Furthermore, the breast pump is comfortable to use. If you are familiar with the Medela brand, you know what kind of great quality you can expect from the company. If you have multiple children, I would definitely recommend this product. When you are caring for more than 1 child, you will want to keep your hands free so that you can help them whenever you are needed (and being a mom, you probably already know that you will be busy the moment your kids wake up until they fall asleep at the end of the day). Being a busy mom is not easy, but with Medela Freestyle you will have one less thing to worry about and have to fuss over.
To buy this fantastic product, please go to Medela's Online Retailers page to locate a store you would like to purchase from.
Many thanks to Mariana of Medela. She has generously offered 1 Medela Freestyle as a giveaway prize to one of my lucky readers (US residents only please). The Medela Freestyle retails for $379.99.

I learned that Medela is the first manufacturer in the U.S. to develop a workplace program to meet the needs of working mothers. I'd love to win this as I am thinking about going back to work part-time after being home for 2 years. I have a 7 week old and would need to continue pumping for her if I do return.

My son and I had a lot of difficulty breastfeeding, so much in fact that he went almost 24 hours without a wet diaper! The Medela site would have been helpful because the LC at the hospital was NOT! I read about nipple confusion, which I suspected was part of our problem. He was breech and I had a c-sect.
This time around, I plan on pumping to help my milk supply come in, which was another problem I had. I am also a full-time working mom.

I am pregnant with my first child and I am quickly realizing how expensive almost everything is for this baby.I have been researching breast pumps and this is the exact model that I narrowed it down to. Winning this would help out so much with a major expense and benefit my baby and I!
With an extensive portfolio of breastpumps, Medela also offers breastmilk feeding products that help moms provide expressed breastmilk back to their babies. While the WHO Code prohibits the marketing of feeding bottles and teats to mothers, Medela is acting on our responsibility to increase, rather than limit information supplied directly to mothers that helps them make informed decisions on products that can increase their breastfeeding duration.

cdziuba@aol.com I follow, and want to win for our pregnant daughter.
I learned all about Breastfeeding an adopted baby:
"Yes, it’s true. Adopting mothers can breastfeed. Down through history, a traditional way of nurturing and nourishing orphans has been for another woman, often a relative, to put the baby to breast. Sometimes the adoptive mother already was lactating, but if not, the infant’s sucking would bring in a milk supply. The process of breastfeeding an adopted baby is called induced lactation. Research has shown that breastfeeding enhances bonding. Parents are thrilled to learn that their “chosen” baby can receive some of the wonderful health benefits provided by human milk, including experiencing the interactions which foster attachment between mother and child."
