Discovery Science Center

After DD woke up this morning, we went to the Discovery Science center for some fun. We had a great time and it was really quiet there again today.

This is one of DD's favorite things to do at the Discovery Science Center.

She loves pushing her hands into it over and over again.

Since DD likes gardening so much, we had to stop at the gardening section and play :).

There is nothing as fun as planting trees. I sure hope that she loves nature as much as she does now when she is older.

Fishing fun.

She did not spend too much time fishing, seems that she got tired of it pretty quickly while we were there today.

She discovered the golf balls (it's a thing that shows you what happens to rain-- how it moves down stream).

Dancing on the little fake river, I am pretty sure she was not supposed to do that...

There was some sort of worm thing that you stick cleaning supplies into.

She thought this was a pretty fun toy to play with.

She had a lot of fun checking out the different cleaning supplies. I wonder if she will still think cleaning supplies are fun when she has to clean the house :P.

She even threw some baseballs when she was there. She did not throw them very hard or far. LOL!

Getting a little frustrated by the bird house. DD had a hard time figuring out how the pieces are put together.

Playing house with a little boy she met.

Hockey fun!
After playing with everything on the second floor, we went outside to play. She loves dinosaurs!

"Roar" is what DD said.

Saying "hello" to the dinosaurs (if I was a better mother, I would teach DD the names of the different dinosaurs and be able to name them here), but at last, I am not...

Dinosaur puzzle.

By the time we left the Discovery Science Center I was thoroughly exhausted. I did not understand why at first, looking back, I realized how much running around we did. It appears that DD is finally old enough to enjoy doing the different things at the center. Although she can't understand the science behind it all, she always has a great time when we visit. Our annual membership expires next month, seeing how much fun she has there, I think I will renew it for another year.

Lowe's Golf fun at home

Couple of weeks ago, we did not get a chance to go to Lowe's because we were at a birthday party. Since we were gone, DH picked up the Lowe's Build and Growth kit for DD.

After lunch today, I pulled the kit out for that DD can build his little golf toy.

It seemed like the easiest kit ever, only 6 nails to hammer.

After we were done building it, DD spent over an hour playing with it. Who knew something so simple could be so much fun?!

She was not very good at it, but she had a blast trying to make the ball go into the little hole.

After many tries, she finally got it in! Yay!

So happy with her new toy.

Running around with her golf ball.

Lowe's Build & Grow: Pirate Ship

After my doctor's appointment this morning, I got home just in time to go to Lowe's with DD and DH. Today, the kids were making pirate ships and I could not believe how packed the place was. I waited for about 15 minutes in line just to pick up DD's kit. While I waited in line, DH kept DD entertain by spinning her around.

DD and DH getting ready to do their thing.

Hammer time!

DH already gets the nail ready for DD. What a good daddy!

DD hammered the nail all the way in.

DD checking out the what exactly she was supposed to do.

Showing off her pirate ship. So cute!

She thought it would be fun to chase me with the pirate ship.

Still chasing me as her daddy was telling her it was time to leave Lowe's.

Time to say bye to Lowe's. What a great morning building a pirate ship with her daddy! She was all smiles!

After Lowe's, I got home just in time to meet with Lara (she was meeting me at my house so we can carpool together). Lara and I went to a tea house (DH was nice enough to babysit DD & took her to Taco Bell for lunch). Lara and I had a very nice time drinking tea and eating finger sandwiches. We had a wonderful time chatting-- you know, basically having some adult conversation without having a kid interrupt you every 30 seconds. When we were done with Lowe's, we visited a little shop that was across the way from the tea shop where I picked up this cool wire dress form for DD's room. I was thinking that we can hang her jeweleries off it and we can also clip her hair clips on it.

Here's DD with her new room decoration.
I realized that the thing was sort of hard to see, so I moved it against the green wall so you can see how cute it is!

What a rough morning!

This morning we were going to my friend Nancy's house to drop her Polliwalks shoes off, so I decided to stop by the recycling center next to the supermarket on my way there.

While we waited for the recycling guy to weight the cans and glass bottles, DD was running around like a crazy little girl. I think she was getting too excited about going to Nancy's house to play with Leila and Erik. Anyhow, as she was running around, she tripped over her own foot and fell down in the supermarket parking lot-- right on the asphalt, ouch! . She got hurt pretty bad on her knees and elbow but barely shed a single tear. POOR BABY!

Here's DD proudly showing off her battle wounds! What a tough girl!

Discovery Science Center

I made a flan last night and cut a piece of it for DH to take to work as a part of his lunch today. Not as pretty as the one that DH's mom made, and not as tasty either, but DH said it was great for my first try.
After DH left for work, I took DD to the Discovery Science center for some fun. It was pretty quiet there today, so DD was able to run around and try everything out.

The center is doing a robot display. DD loves roborts.

There were also games the kids can play, but DD was too young to understand what she needs to do.
I thought she would love the ant colony, but she was not very impressed.

She was, however, very impressed by the fake kitchen. As soon as she saw it, she ran right in and started making some lunch for me. It was adorable!

Mixing things around.

She sure looked like she knew her way around the kitchen.

After she was done with the kitchen, it was time for some gardening fun.

She remembered how we planted Rosemary in the pots, so she wanted to plant something too.

It was so cute to watch her planting her little tree.

It took her so long to bury the tree with bunch of fake rocks, but she was really enjoying it.

When that was all done, she decided it was time to fish.

Showing off her fishing pole.

She was so happy about catching the fish. Too cute!

We had a blast at the Discovery Science Center today. She did a lot more stuff there, but the battery in my camera died so I could not take any more photos. Oh, well, these is always next time.
