"Wear sun glasses like momma"

is what DD said when she put her sun glasses on. I brought these for her last year and she haven't want to wear it. But, after nap this afternoon, she was all about showing me how she can wear sun glasses like her mommy. It was too cute.

Disneyland Wednesday

I took DD to Disneyland yesterday. I was not sure how busy it would be (since this is when the local high schools do their senior trips), but it was actually not too bad. We got there early enough to do Splash Mountain 3 times before the crowd began to pour in.
When we got off the Splash Mountain, DD saw a bunch of characters hanging around. DD wanted to say hello to them, so I agreed to it. I wish I could tell them who they are, but honestly, I just have no idea.
After she said hello to what appeared to be a fox and a bear, we went on Winnie the Pooh ride. She is now big enough to get in and out of the rides without much assistance.

After the ride, we waited in line so she can say hello to Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger. She was so excited about meeting them and hugging them that she refused to look at the camera-- it made taking pictures very hard. Maybe she will be better next year.
This is when Pooh actually turned her around to look at the camera. LOL!
DD giving Pooh a high-five.
She was soooo happy!
Loving Eeyore and of course not looking at the camera, again!
Eeyore was smart enough to turn sideways for me to take a photo.
DD also met Tigger.
DD said something to Tigger. I am not sure what. Maybe something to the effective of "I love you."
Even Tigger had to turn her around to look at the camera. I wonder if this happens all the time.
We spent most of the day at Disneyland, when DD got tired, I took her home for nap time. But before we left, she saw Goofy, so we stopped by to say hello before we left.

Bubbles are fun

On Sunday morning, DD asked to play with the bubbles that came in the goody bag from Katie's birthday party. I told her that she could play in the back patio with her bubbles and so off she went to make some bubbles. She had a blast blowing bubbles and trying to eat the bubbles as well. I don't know why bubbles are so exciting to little kids. Is it because they reflect the beautiful rainbow colors under the sun? Is it because the way they flow through the sky? Is it that they are so transitory? No matter what the reasons are, DD loves them and I think she is adorable when she plays with them. By the way, I still love bubbles too ^_^.

Spin me Daddy!

Last weekend DH and I took DD to one of our favorite Chinese restaurants. While we were waiting for our table, DD asked DH to spin her around and around. This is her new favorite thing to do with her daddy. Of course, her daddy is the only one strong and crazy enough to do it.

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse Review

For years, DH wanted to try Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. And for years, we did not go try the place because of the how expensive it is to eat there. Last Saturday, DH decided to take me there (the one located in Irvine, CA) for a late celebration of Mother's Day. I love steaks, so I was beyond excited about trying the high-end steak there. While I ordered a classic dinner that included an appetizer, steak, 1 side and 1 dessert, DH got a steak and 2 sides.

For my appetizer, I choose Louisiana Seafood Gumbo. The gumbo tasted very fishy and I have had better gumbo from Disneyland and the supermarket soup counter. I was disappointed. However, since it is a steakhouse, I was holding out hope that the steak will be more than great. The steak came and it WAS great. Was it $50 great? No! The steak was not the best steak I have ever had. I had better steak for cheaper in Vegas just a few months ago, so I was again disappointed. The side dish I ordered was mushrooms and the mushrooms tasted like they came straight out of a can. DH tried it and agree with me. DH's steak was also great, but again, not worth the $50. He ordered 2 side dishes ($8 each). The mashed potato was pretty good but the broccoli tasted bitter. Lastly, the dessert... well, it was so mediocre that I am not going to boring you with the details (we have had better at buffets).

Our bill came to a whooping $158. We have never had such an expensive meal in our lives. Will we do it again? Definitely not! For $158, I expected a fantastic meal, and I did not get that. I will say that the steaks are great, but the steaks are not worth the price we paid. Ok, so you might be thinking, "well, surely, you are paying for the nice atmosphere and service, right?" When we were there, we were seated by a large group of women doing a baby shower there, how is that for atmosphere? DH made reservation and we ended up waiting for 20 minutes for our table. During our meal, the waitress took DH's wine glass away before he finished his drink. How is that for service?

The steak might have been great, but the rest of the steakhouse left a bad taste in our mouths. We will not be going there again.

Lowe's Build & Grow: Ready To Go Kit

This morning, DH and I took DD to Lowe's for its Build & Grow event.

DH reading the instruction to DD and showing her what they will be doing.

DD had her hammer all ready to do some work ^_^.

Hammering away.

DH making sure that the nails are in all the way.

DD loves hammering.

DD calls her box the "Princess purse." I am sure no real princess would be caught dead with it though :P.

Very proud of her own work.

After we were done at Lowe's, we walked next door to Michael's to do a little shopping for DD.

Such a Daddy's girl!

She loves it when her daddy carries her around.

I used my 40% off coupon and get a tube of turtles & frogs for DD. DH opened up the tube & poured the content into her "princess purse" for her.

She was beyond excited about her purse and her new toys inside of it.

After some grocery shopping and a quick lunch at Costco, we stopped by Joann's to buy some fabric). She had a lot of fun just running around the store. Kids are so easy to satisfied :).

Katie's 5th birthday party at Aliso Viejo Park

Katie turned 5 today! Woohoo! We went to a park in Aliso Veijo to help her celebrate her big day. It was a brand new park for us so we had a little trouble finding the place, but it was a very nice park and we will be visiting there again for sure ^_^.

As soon as we got there, DD took off running to play with her friends.

DD checking out the new park.

Going down the slide with her friends.

For awhile, DD and Savahanna were attached at the hips. They wanted to do everything together.

Having a great time! Isn't it awesome that the kids can have so much fun at the park!
Instead of opening gifts after lunch and cake, Lara decided to let Katie open her gifts. Katie got lots of gifts and I think she really enjoyed opening them up (not sure if she actually cared what came in the gift bags at all though).

DD hugging her friend :).

There was a moment where both DD and Savahanna were upset because they wanted presents too. Clearly, they don't really understand that you only get to open the gifts if it is YOUR birthday party. Here's DD looking sad because I had to explain to her that she was not getting a gift. LOL!

Everything was good when the pizza came.

Lindsay (Katie's little sister) enjoying her pizza. She is so cute!

If the mess on her face is an indication of how much she enjoyed her meal, I would say that she LOVED the pizza and cookies.

Amber brought these really cool over-sized ants for the kids to play with. DD was in love instantly.

Amber showed DD how to throw the ants in the box, DD did not get it at all. LOL!

DD and Avery having fun going up the slide. Just a few minutes before this, they were fighting. DD cried, Avery cried, there were time-outs and apologies. They sure got over that drama quickly (I guess that's the great thing about being kids).

There's Avery's pretty face :).

Half way through the party, the kids thought that it would be fun to run around in circles.

Kids running around everywhere.

DD also had fun playing with the swing.

Later, it was back to running around (up and down the hill).

It was nice to see how much fun DD was having.

These kids have no fear. They all thought it would be fun to roll down the hill. Except for DD, she did not understand the concept of rolling down the hill. She was rolling across the hill instead. ROFL!

Rolling, rolling, rolling....

Before we left the park, Lara gave DD a goody bag. She got a lollipop, so everything was good in the universe again.
On our way home, DD kept on telling me how much fun she had with her friends. I am so glad she had such a great time, it made all of the awful moments of crying, whining and fussing worth it.
