Some updates

As some of you already know by now that my father passed away recently. It was a complete shock to myself and DH. I lost my mother to cancer when I was in college, now losing my father to cancer has been difficult for me to grasp and comprehend. For the past few days, we have tried our best to sort out the mess and figure out how to go on with our lives. I thought about blogging, but such activity seems so meaningless compare to dealing with death. To be honest, I really did not have much to say. As I look back, I realize that I actually know very little about my parents, and my fear is that my daughter will know even less about them. Subsequently, I decided to start a new blog that is completely private so that it could be used to document my memories of them for DD without any censorship. I hope that it's something she will find helpful when she becomes an adult. This is as much as I am going to say about my father's death because I can't really discuss (or even type) about it without breaking down to a sobbing mess. I do want to take a moment to thank my friends for their warm thoughts and prayers, they are deeply appreciated.

DD is too young to understand death, and since my father had been living in Thailand for more than 3 years, she knows nothing about him. I am glad that death is not something she needs to understand or deal with right now. In any case, we are keeping DD's life and schedule as normal as possible. As far as she is concerned, the world is still the same and nothing has changed.

Now, here's what DD has been up to this fast few days. On Monday, we met some friends at the park for a watermelon playdate. It was a very hot day and the heat made DD's rash worst, so we did not stay long. But she was happy to play at the park even if it was for only a short while.
The slides were too hot for her so she stayed on her swing most of the time. You can see our friends in the backgroud.
After playing on the swing, she went back for more watermelons.
Then it was time to roll down the hill.
Wearing red to make sure the watermelon stain won't show.
There was a large plastic tree at the park and DD really liked it.
Peeking in to see what's inside of the plastic tree.
On Wednesday, DD started her very first Gymnastics Class. She had a blast. She loved all of the different activites the class did & she was adorable! By the way, she did great for her first class. I got a couple of pictures in. In this photo, her teacher is helping her up on the low beam.
DD boucing her way across the trampoline.
I am really glad that she had so much fun at her gymnastics class. I think we will probably let her attend classes there until she is tired of it.
