Home Depot shopping trip

Last Saturday morning, I noticed a water stain on the living room ceiling so I called the plumber for an appointment first thing Monday morning. Monday afternoon, the plumber finally showed up and removed part of the ceiling. After 30 minutes of looking at the water leak, he determined that the leak was caused by the toilet in our bedroom. There was a very large hairline crack in our toilet (and there was also one on DD's bathroom toilet). The plumber explained that the toilets probably date back to when our condo was built (1973), so the rubber and the piping are most likely rotted out. To change the piping, the water hook up and a new toilet installation, it was going to cost us about $900 per toilet. We decided to pick up our own toilet (instead of buying them from the plumbing company) to save some money. Monday night, we brought 2 toilets (for DD's bathroom and our bathroom). When the plumber came out on Tuesday, we discovered that the second toilet we brought for DD's room was too tall. So Tuesday night, we went back to Home Depot once more. As you can imagine, by the time we had to go to Home Depot again, DH was tired of lifting the toilets in and out of my car, up and down 3 flights of stairs.

The only one who enjoyed this water leak mess was DD. She loved following the plumber around and checking out what he is doing to "fix our house"-- as she directed the plumber on what he needs to do. She also enjoyed going to Home Depot with us and run around like the wild child that she is.

DD helping her Daddy push the shopping cart.

She also wanted to help her Daddy pay.

She wanted us to chase her around Home Depot and I had to explain to her that it was not a good idea.

Of course, that did not stop her from running around in circles.

I could not believe how much energy she had at 9 PM.

Having a blast from running around in circles, that just goes to show you no child needs an expensive toy to have fun. LOL!

On Wednesday, it took the plumber 4 hours to fix the pipe and install our new toilet. I thought I would show you a picture of our new (not so exciting) toilet. It is actually a bit taller than the old toilet we had, so that made DH (who is 6'5") very happy. On the other hand, it made DD sad because even though she can hop on the toilet, she needs my help to get off it now. LOL!

The plumber will be replacing the toilet in DD's bathroom this coming Saturday. I can't wait for that to be done. After that, I will have to call a handy man to fix the holes in the ceiling. I am sure that is going to be a lot of fun. *sigh*
