I came home today and was ready to upload some cute photos I took of DD from the playdate this morning. Only to find out that my laptop refused to turn on. Before I contacted Dell Technical Support, I did the usual things that most people fail to do before they call (you know, like making sure the power is plugged in-- you would be surprised.. Rayleen knows what I am talking about). After spending more than an hour with the support person, they informed me that my laptop is officially dead. Ok, those were not their exact words, but they pretty much gave my poor laptop (less than a year old) the death sentence.
I am supposed to receive a box in 3 business days (to ship it back). It will then take Dell 5 to 8 business days to repair it. *sigh*
The only good thing is that I finished grading my students' finals last night and I even submitted their grades online. Of course, since all of data of my students scores are saved on the laptop (yap, no backup data, I am a dummy), I can only hope and keep my fingers crossed that they don't reformat my hard drive and erase the information. On top of that, all of DD's photos are saved on it (yes, again, no backup data, again, I am a dummy). Those were the only thing I am really concerned about. So keeping your fingers crossed for me!
In the mean time, I am able to use DH's PC when he is not home. Therefore, my access to the net will be limited by his presences at home. How sad is that even though I love having him home, but him being home also means I can't do my favorite things (surfer the net, blog, edit DD's photos and so forth). Oh, well.... I will have to try to survive :P
