I registered DD at a local private Christian preschool this past Friday. Even though she will not start school there until September, but I had to go there to register her. Now, I do think that it is totally nuts. Who registers for school 8 months ahead of time???
Someone was telling me that moms actually go there the night before the actual registration date to wait in line in order to ensure a spot of their children. I spoke to DH about it and he felt pretty strongly about NOT having me go and spend the night at the church just so tI can make sure that DD can go to school there. I understood his point. Basically, because it is a private preschool, we are going to be paying $150 more a month and DH thought it was ridiculous to wait in line so we can pay more money.
I ended up not going there the night before, but I did get up early in the morning to be at the preschool for their 7:30 AM registration. I got to the school around 7 AM and discovered that there were a lot of moms waiting already. A handful of them showed up at 4 AM to wait in line. I was lucky enough to get the last spot for DD. People who came after me were placed on the wait list. I was glad to be able to get DD in because I toured the school and really liked it.
Starting next Tuesday, DD will be attending a preschool at the college next to our house 2 mornings a week. She will be at this preschool until September :).
