Date night the frugal way

DH and I went to see Quantum of Solace tonight. While DD and I were at a birthday party today, DH went to Cost Co to pick up our grocery. Since we knew we were going to the movies tonight, he brought the movie tickets from cost co for $7.49 each. If we had brought our tickets at the movie theater, it would have been $11 each, so we saved $7 total.

To cut down on cost, I packed sandwiches, sodas, fruits and salad for us to enjoy during the movies (I have a huge purse :P). Instead getting dessert & coffee out, we came home to have ice cream at home. Because we live so far away from our family, so we did have to pay for a baby sitter. She gets $10 an hour and she was here for 3 hours.

Our total cost for date night was $45. Not bad at all, I have to say. By packing our own food and drinks as well as buying movie tickets at Cost Co, we were able to save some money. Of course, it would have been better if we can get some free baby sitting, but I thought we did pretty good for a date night.

BTW, the movie was awesome! We came home just in time to put DD to bed.
